Hoeter
With all of the afternoon rain in the Cincinnati metro area during the day on Monday, I immediately seized this opportunity to head out to the park to get some rides in because the park would be dead. For the most part, it was and I probably got the most rides I've ever have in a 4 hour visit to the park. Started in Action Zone and Oktoberfest with the intent of checking out the progress with Project 2014. Flight Deck was first and it was a station wait. Next up was Adventure Express, also a station wait. The views of the construction site, especially on AE, shows progress coming along. Definitely a great vantage point if you want to see what is taking place. Have a watchful eye, especially on the second half of the ride. After this, I headed to The Racer. Station waits for both sides, I got in rides on both Blue and Red. Headed to Flight of Fear afterward, 20 minute wait for it and was one of the longest waits of the day. Well worth it though. After this I headed to Vortex, 10 minute wait for 5-1, as always an amazing ride. Headed to Backlot Stunt Coaster after this...been awhile since I've been on it. 20 minute wait for this ride. Last two rides of the night were on The Beast and Diamondback. 20 minute waits for each respectively. Beast was when it was getting dark with a lot of fog back there so it made for an interesting experience. Diamondback was a night ride in row 4. I got in a lot last night. Flight Deck, Adventure Express, Red Racer, Blue Racer, Flight of Fear, Vortex, Backlot Stunt Coaster, The Beast, and Diamondback...9 coasters in almost 4 hours, a new personal best for me!

Voicetek
The air was cool and the weather was rainy, definitely a great day to take advantage of minimal crowds at the park. I should've thought of that! Glad you had a fun trip!
Hoeter
Thanks y'all I appreciate it...instead of starting a new thread altogether I will add some information about today's brief visit. I headed up and arrived right around 12-12:30ish, expecting crowds to a minimum. However since it's Fourth of July Week, that got thrown right out the window as soon as I saw the parking lot. The park is PACKED today. Only got in a couple of rides...Red Racer and WindSeeker. Left around 3:30pm or so as I met a friend up there and talked to her and hung out for a little bit. Before I headed over to The Racer, I first went up to the Tower to get a better perspective of what's going on over in our Corner of Suspicion...footers, footers, and more footers. Can't wait to see what 2014 holds! Couple things real quick that I wanted to add...most of the TV's in Diamondback's queue area I see are no longer there. The one (or more, can't remember) that remain have severe burn in. Additionally, the spiel in the line is voiced by none other than our friend Don Helbig! Is the new ride for 2014 going to use Son of Beast's station? (avoids items from being thrown) I may head up tomorrow for ERT, not sure yet. I'm on vacation for work until Monday July 8 and have been off since Thursday June 27 and it feels like I have been off for a MONTH, but I'm enjoying every minute of it! (not to mention I have to go to the DMV to get tags. Happy Birthday present to me, State of Ohio!)
MDMC01
^I thought the Diamondback voice-overs sounded familiar! I heard them when I was in line Sunday night (it was a great ride btw!) and I thought it was Don, but I wasn't sure. Thanks for confirming!
DBInternational
I was there monday too! Best Part of the day: Getting stuck at the front of Flight Deck's line for 3 hours while waiting on the rain to stop and the ride to start back up again. All 3 hours my church youth group and I hung out and talked with some of the ride ops. We had a lot of fun getting to hear from some of them about all kinds of stuff! Anything from learning the Diamondback ride ops are arranged into Harry Potter Houses to the strangest people they've seen at the park. Great stuff! So, if you ever get the chance, talk to the people that work the rides. It's a lot of fun hearing from a different point of view and I'm sure it brightens their day too!

Hoeter
No I did not. I do believe that I saw one over by The Racer when between my rides on blue and red.
jcgoble3
Hmm. I don't recall when I might have been in that area (my memory sucks ). I would have been wearing a dark blue fanny pack, snow camo shorts, sandals, and glasses with a blue Cedar Point strap (plus the shirt obviously). Any of that ring a bell?
