jmsewe0
Hey guys - just found this forum and I thought I would check with you guys before making any purchases. So, the wife and I are heading up this Friday from Louisville. This is a little trip for our anniversary and a break from the little ones. I went ahead and purchased two Adult tickets from our local Kroger for 27.99 which I thought was a steal! I am pretty set on picking up a Fast Lane Plus because I would assume the park would be pretty busy on a Friday in the middle of summer. Would you guys recommend doing that online or at the park? I know a lot of people say they don't sell out, but I just don't want to be stuck without it! Also, does the Fast Lane Plus provide any benefit in the water park? Also, if we are fans of riding in the front car of a roller coaster, how does that work with the Fast Lane Plus? If there are people in the Fast Lane queue, do they usually let them go first and pick their cars and then let people in from the regular lines? Thanks for any info! I appreciate it! medford
I can't speak for all rides; I've never had the need for fast pass, and 99% of my visits right now are w/ a 1 year old and 5 year old...but here it goes... Beast, you get to enter near the back of the loading station. I assume if you want a front of The Beast seat, you have to wait in the additional line for the front, but they hold people back in the ques so as to not overload the station. Does Diamondback mix in near the start of the end of the que?? I can't recall where it mixes together, I didn't see anyone using fast pass there last year. Congo falls mixes you in at the end of the que, I'd imagine if you want front of the line, same rules as The Beast. boo blasters, gets you to the front of the line, where everything is front seat Woodstock express; I can't recall where you get in, I imagine thats not on your list for friday; can't say I've ever seen anyone use fast pass on that. Flying Ace Arial chase, same story as The Beastie Woodstock express. Eiffel Tower, you essentially get on the next elevator available; don't know if a line forms for the "last ride up" prior to fireworks which may incorporate a different set of rules than I've seen during earlier hours. Stunt coaster mixes you in at the end of the que, getting front of the line where you are assigned a seat, if you choose to take that assignment our go to the front is up to you, I've never seen anyone redirect someone wanting to wait an extra train or two for a front seat ride. I'll let others fill you in on the other rides. I'm guessing the rides I'm no the most are the rides you'll be skipping on friday, have fun. I'm going thursday, if my son finally crosses that 48" mark, which he's ever so close to, I can update friday morning on some of the coasters he'll finally be able to get on; I'm guessing the list will be complete by then however. TheCrypt
You basically walk up the exit (or wherever the entrance is designated), you show the ride operator your wristband, and you enter the station. They don't "assign seats" for you (unless you're on a ride with assigned seats), you get to pick yourself. As for online or at the park, definitely buy at the park. You'll be able to gauge the crowds and decide then whether or not you really need it. It's supposed to be really hot this week so it may alleviate crowds into Soak City. Speaking of the waterpark, Fast Lane does not grant you anything there.
shawnofthedead
I had fast pass plus let me help too. Wait and get it at the park, if it rains it will be useless. It is highly unlikely it will run out. you could though check the weather if its not giving rain and you are going, I dont see how it would hurt to go ahead and get them. As far as the Fast Lane que and seating its much like being at the front of other line, once the ride op opens your gate then you pretty much go anywhere except on some rides where they tell you where to sit like backlot and sometimes Flight of Fear, really depends on whos running the line on that. Sometimes you will get to the end and they may let some other ppl in the line but mostly you get to go pick seats pretty quickly, but its not right away and you do not get ahead of ppl in line by the seats they pick. For example you dont get to go ahead of the front seat bc it has more demand and if you want that seat you will have to wait maybe 3-4 loads. I didnt do that though, I can find a empty row ride the ride and get back on using fast pass and ride it twice while the same ppl are waiting to get a very front seat. The Beast; you will enter the exit to the left by the photo station and follow it up until the station its self, you will go under and around the side all the way up and in its own line. Vortex: much like The Beast you enter at exit and follow the arrows to the gate. Diamondback; you walk right beside all the ppl in line and goes right to it. Firehawk: You kinda cross the whole que line and right up to the guy by the cooler and he will tell you to go on to the ride. Delirium: Enter at exit, will have its own que. Flight of Fear: you will enter to the left though the exit and follow signs. The Racer and AE both are right beside the Entrance. That pretty much covers most rides, just watch for the fast pass signs and you will be alright, be prepared for the dirty looks, like I got when I rode Diamondback 5X in a row, you will pass ppl in line more than once. I think the rides that you benifit the most is Backlot, Invertigo and derilium. All fun but not worth much of a wait. IMO

jmsewe0
Guys thanks for all the replies! I think we will wait until we get to the park especially because of the weather. Forecasts show that it should be hot and sunny but T-Storms on Saturday. Lord knows weather can move up one day and I would hate to waste $120 when nothing is running. Even if the park is somewhat busy, I think we will pick up the Fast Lane passes. We rarely get away from the kids so this would be a perfect opportunity to splurge Its been about 6 years since I have been to KI, but definitely looking forward to it.
