Body Odor on Ride Restraints

On what grounds (meaning what specific park rule advertised to the public allows them to) can they prohibit guests from taking pictures of cleanup? If the ride op doesn't have the authority to prohibit someone in line from taking pictures, then any order to stop is invalid and the guest is within his or her rights to continue shooting as they please. Ride ops can't just order anyone to do anything; they have to have the backing of park rules. So what specific park rule says that you cannot take pictures of vomit cleanup, and where is this rule written down?

^ A guest certainly doesn't have the right to "continue as they please" if convinced that a ride operator's request to stop a behavior is wrong. Guests have a responsibility under Ohio state law to follow verbal instructions from ride operators.

After complying, a guest could certainly complain to management or to guest relations if the request was in error.

^ That's nothing compared to blood in a Mammoth raft.

So if a ride operator instructs me to punch myself in the eye, then I am required to do so?

According to Ohio state law, a rider has a duty to refrain from certain actions if so instructed, as well as to meet conditions required of riders. Interestingly, Ohio's rider responsibility law only mentions written requirements.

Cedar Point broadly requires, in writing, that you exhibit both safe and appropriate behavior. Refusing any reasonable request from a ride operator is neither safe nor appropriate behavior. Punching yourself in the eye, whether instructed to or not, isn't safe or appropriate either.

As to what degree you are required to follow a verbal instruction to refrain from certain behavior, and what consequences from the state and/or the park may result from a failure to do so, you'd need to consult with the park and/or a lawyer.

By the way, if a police officer (including bonded park security) gives a lawful instruction, not complying could be a serious criminal matter.

Insert some sort of IANAL disclaimer here.

Sweating isn't the problem. Sweat does not stink. It is the bacteria on your skin reacting to the sweat that stinks. That is why hygiene is brought up.

While that is true it doesn't necessarily mean one has poor hygiene. I bathe everyday but after a 100 degree day in the shop working on semi trucks straight off the highway......my pits and whatnot are rather ripe.

Not to mention some peoples Apocrine Glands are more active than others, especially teens.

I recall long ago, on the Zodiac, a family of three, a dad and two children got in the cage with us. They smelled so badly of body odor, I guess my cousin forgot himself, held his nose and said to me, "Pew."

I started laughing and couldn't stop. The stinky family did not see what my cousin did, they only saw a hysterical idiot laughing on a lame Ferris Wheel.

I think the worst I've ever encountered was at Disney World. Since they tend to get many international tourists, that may come from countries where the personal hygiene standards are different, it happens. Not making any judgements. (We are more than capable of producing people with offensive body odor in this country) Luckily most attractions at Disney don't require a restraint and don't have head restraints. But on the ones that do it can be a crap shoot.

I don't have a problem per say with the stinky restraints as I do with the stinky people who OBVIOUSLY do not wear deodorant.

I was at BGT and in front of us on Kumba was a guy (must have been in his teens) who OBVIOUSLY did not wear deodorant. It made my husband sick, and he did not ride anything else for the remainder of the day.
