Let's take a walk down memory lane. In 1996 PKI added FoF. In 1997 they expanded the water park, and 1998 brought the HBL rennovation. 1999 brought us DZ and F/O, and in 2000 came SOB. Then in 2001 Nick Central was added to the park. In 2002 we saw TR:TR. 2003 brought us three rides: Delirium, SDATHC, and SBSP3D. Now do you see the trend? PKI adds a thrill ride then adds a ride the whole family can enjoy. After that they go back to thrill rides. Take the hint and trust me.

Green ghost listen to yourself you sound like a nagging wife. When we get a a little merry-go-round for 2004 and no one goes to kingsisland then don't come crying to me.

Listen to yourself you sound like a Cry Baby...First off PKI doesnt need a steel for 2004...they need to expand waterworks its been forever since PKI put somthing new in it..besides we Have Tomb Raider and a bunch of great rides to last us until PKI puts in a steel...i would rather spend my time at PKI than CP anyway...Merry-go round in case you havent noticed PKI HAS TWO of them already! besides i like PKI alot better than CP! tongue.gif

It's funny how the term "family park" is used almost as an insult to PKI. I think they are smart to be more family friendly than other parks. A family of four or five spends more money in the park than a group of teens or twenty-somethings. A family will buy the Keyhole photos while others avoid them at all costs. A family will spend more on food, souveniers, stroller rental, and other impulse buy items. They also can't cover the park as quickly as non-families so they are more likely to spend two days in the park.

I think a water park addition is a good move. SFWOA recently upgraded theirs and now with Cedar Point's annoucement of the indoor water park, it's evident there is lots of interest in them. I could see them putting in a master blaster or some other unique water ride.

Let's not forget, parks like WDW and IOA do not have any world record breaking coasters yet they have some amazing rides. These parks and PKI have proven you can have a "world class" park without a hyper or giga coaster.

i dont think theyll be going world class any time soon. And i doubt anything comparing to CP will come soon either. CP hasnt destroyed themselves at all, their rides take up so little space, like Millennium and Dragster, mill. goes over everything and dragster is small. Besides, are you suggesting they shouldnt have built that many coasters? Then what would be special about it and how would they be successful?

also

PKI's coaster quality isnt half as good as CP's in my opinion. Son of Beast isnt very special, its mostly going in giant circles. Beast is nice, the trim braking hurt it some though, and it still doesnt compete with a major CP coaster. Wicked Twister > Face Off. KI has better flat rides, but they dont attract near as much of a crowd. FoF is ok, still not comparing to raptor. The one ride they have that not many parks have is Vortex. You dont see a regular steel that big [looping]. Still, CP still has Dragster and Millennium and raptor which havent been compared with anything at KI. Even Mantis and Wicked Twister... Cedar Point wants admission from coaster lovers, PKI is the family park. Thats how it is, and you should definetly not say probably worlds best, or even Yep they will for that matter. You dont know anything, and theres absolutely no sign it will happen. They havent dont anything in a while, yes, but just because you want it doesnt mean it iwll happen. I still think theyll build a steel, but an overall descent one, not world class

Ouch...Murphz, that hurts. First off, PKI is world class, Beast is often ranked worlds best. Son of Beast, FoF, and Vortex(for it's time)are world class as well. Also, when I said original, I screwed up, I meant to say when PKI makes another steel it will be original, not that all pki coasters are original. Additionally, yes, CP has lost there land to coasters. I didn't say they should stop building coasters either, though they do need to look into some flats. SOB doing circles? I find that funny, because then you talk about how great TTD, and it is great, but it's still a one trick pony, and SOB has more tricks then launch, up, down, brakes. Also, I've never ridden Raptor at CP, but you compared it to FoF, isn't Raptor inverted? And finnaly, I never said a new world class steel would come in 04, because it won't(in my opinion). But as far as in the future, well, I'd guarantee it. To say they won't would be stupid. I'm hoping on 05. Frankly, there's way too many people in this topic complaining about no new coaster for 04, and how no one will come. I think if everyone waits just a little longer, PKI will bring thrill riders a steel that'll be top 10 material. You just have to wait.

It's funny how we hear the same thing over and over again. You would think people like you would get tired of saying because people like me are tired of hearing it. We know PKI is a family park. So, I guess I have to put two and two together for you/ That's why we hate it.

So if PKI doesn't build a hyper for next year they lose a group of people who come to the park for only four of five rides and leave by three or four P.M. But by improving Water Works (or whatever they have planned) they gain families who stay the entire day and utilize the entire park. That's the type of customer any business would want.

No one gives a crap about water works 75% of the world is covered in water we don't need more of it. We need coasters in PKI not water slides that no one gives a crap about. O and icarus they just don't lose a little group of peeps when they don't build a good coaster they lose a few million. Not all the world has "familys" and no one gives a crap about us having the number one kid area in the world except you. I bet you ride Top cats taxi jam and couldn't go on anything bigger then it. Maybe a waterworks expansion is good for a little ***** who is afraid of heights. But its not good for the people who want to ride heart stopping and breath taking rollercoaster. If you haven't noticed Cedar Point gets more people in one day then we get in a whole week (sarcasm). They need more coasters or they are going to fail terribly. And green ghost if you think PKI is better then Cedar Point you definitly have to be a dumb little terd who doesn't know a tampon from foil paper.

Well, I agree that a Water Works expansion is a dumb idea. That's just my personal opinion because Water Works just isn't my cup of tea.

As far as comparing PKI to CP goes, that's apples and oranges. PKI has been in existance for 31 years while CP has been around for what? 110 years? Imagine trying to compare a person's accomplishments who is just a few years out of college to a person who is 110 years old. Think of it that way. You can like either park more for any reason you want, but just keep in mind that CP has had almost 5 times the amount of time that PKI has had to expand and grow.

The only thing I really understand in your statement is that you "hate" the park. Real simple solution for ya'.......Don't go.

Ha ha. And miss out on all the fun? I don't go up their to ride rollercoasters. I go up their to make fun of people. 80 dollars well worth it.

No I tend to think you will all still stay at PKI. For one reason we couldn't get a loan from Banc of America another reason is because you are a dumbace who wouldn't know a good park if it hit him in the face.

As far as it goes though, most of CP (the rides) has been constructed in the last 31 years, so in that regard it is a very fair comparison.

So many things are wrong in this statement. I'll just point out one of them. Just because PKI doesn't build what you want doesn't mean that they will lose a few million. PKI's attendance every year is only around 3 million.

Also, everyone has a "family". I guess little 10 year olds don't know that.

This topic has been reduced to complete stupidity. Now we've got several pansys who want a coaster and cry and cry. There's a good statement someone in this topic already said, DON'T GO IF YOU HATE PKI. And you should get off this site too. DesignerBuilder, I had respect for your comments at one time, but your just some whiny enthusiast behind a keyboard who says he goes to pki to make fun of people. What kind of a loser goes to a place they hate, pays 80 bucks for a pass, then makes fun of people!? Thats like paying your worst enemy for the ability to yell at them. And, if you really are trying to build your own park, perhaps you might try not making yourself look like a total loser to every potential customer you might have someday. Snake, your whiny too, there are more to parks then coasters. CP is better for thrill riders, but for familys with a rider of every ride class(kids, thrill, intermediate)PKI will have their business. I think CP is a great park, but I love flats and dark rides as well as coasters, so my favorite is PKI. Wether a park is better or not comes down to what the individual seeks, and given some time, PKI will have a collection of coasters, as well as every other type of ride. And I think I speak for every respectful person on here, when I say that if you don't like PKI, shut your mouth, or get off the site.

And my previous statements that you so called "respected" was the old me i realized i gotta get my head outta my ace and live. And can you show me the freaking topic that said i hated PKI i never made that statement. I like PKI but its not the best park in the world I mean you guys act like you live on PKI. Gee, Banc of America wouldn't give you a loan? Maybe it's because you can't go five minutes without cussing and you have lower than average intelligence (based on your horrible use of grammar).

It's funny, desinerbuilder, that you gave advice to RyanA to stop talking to computer geeks while he was talking to you. I guess that means your a computer geek. You also need to read #5 of the forum rules.

I'm done posting on this topic. It feels like I am getting dumber everytime I read another post by Designerbuilder.

SOB goes down the hill, then starts i giant circle helix, then goes down, loops, helix again, over, pretty much. Not that great airtime, just a fast hill and a loop.

Now for Dragster:

launch to 120 mph on the worlds tallest/fastest coaster and home of the best 15 seconds of my life. Feel like you will derail just from the speed as you go straight up into the sky, look at MF way below and go down. I would rather wait 2 hours for TTD then 20 minutes for SoB.

Especially when i rode 4 times in a half hour for TTD =D

Rollbacks are your friend

Ride backwards and get a free walk on pass for later smile.gif

Also, i think just seeing all the excitement for Dragster and MF, the people cheering as they get off, all of that, the stuff PKI doesnt have, boosts up the fun in CP. When you stand at the entrance 4 hours for Dragster when its closed, and see it make it over the hill the 3rd test, and the whole park which was in the line that made it past the sky ride yelling like mad, you feel happy. Then you ride it. You feel very very happy.

Go to KI, and none of that happens. Yes they had world class once, Vortex and Beast were definetly like Dragster and MF in CP. But, nothing like this has happened recently?

Sorry I called you out on that one, I'm kind of angry with some family issues. But I'm not a member of ACE. Also, I wasn't directing the "If you hate pki don't go" statement towards you, it was someone else who said something about hating it. Also, I'm not gay. But if you call living making fun of people on this site, well then your definetly living. About SOB murphz, I was just pointing out that SOB isn't just circles, I also never said I really liked it that much either. I would've loved a steeper hill and some airtime would be nice too, still, the loop is worth the ride.

And yes, there is nothing quite like TTD at PKI, I'd like an experience like that, and it could happen, just not in 04. I think 05 will bring a special coaster, and like you said, they haven't brought anything big since SOB(I still count SOB as world class), but thats all the more reason to suspect they'll be bringing something good for 05. However, to get back on track for 04, I'm gonna say Flying Super Saturator, possibly flat in the park, and possibly some other water slides.

You are entirely correct about that. The only thing you have to keep in mind is that while CP was already established in 1972, PKI had just finalized their contracts and things like that. You know, basic startup costs. I'm sure just getting the park started was a distraction from trying to make the park better.

Obviously, if they really wanted to, they could have towering rollercoasters like CP, but it's a matter of approach.

Oh yeah, and people quit fighting! biggrin.gif

Ok guys. I ahve stopped posting on these forums and I have left the site. But after reading all of this 2004 stuff, I had to step in. Aaron and the staff have been dropping you guys hints for the past couple of weeks that you all seem to ignore because you are all so HELL BENT on getting a steel coaster that many of you fail to recognize what will be coming to the park! Lets examine the facts:

1. Aaron and the staff have been saying saying that it "next year, will be a WET one"

2.PKI's contract/agreement with huss is not over yet

3. Screemscape just realeased that we may be getting another HUSS giant.

So, whats a HUSS GIANT RIDE, it GETS YOU WET, IS INTENDED TO BE HIGHLY THEMED and has never been done before?

Its called a HUSS Delirium, look into it.
