Chatter
Here's what I know. From people I know at PKI (I live in Lebanon) and reading between the lines of what people have told me......here goes: The land that is in question (15 acres of Water Works) is between Kiddie Land and part of Water Works. Either Kiddie Land is getting expanded or it's a new area for teenagers/family rides (strongest rumor). Part of Water Works will MAY remain (the South section with the Wave Pool and Pirates Cove/Toddler Pool and the surfing pool, and maybe the big slides. Whitewater Canyon has been shut down, but is it being demolished or just reworked? Whitewater Canyon is a very popular ride. Rumor has it that PKI designers don't like the way it is buried deep in the woods and has no traffic or people that come back just to watch. The Canyon may be getting a facelift.......the woods may get cleared and a new pathway put in with more rides in that area to attract more patrons to this area. Whitewater Canyon may be one of the center pieces. A Super Saturator or something like it may be put in. Will Congo Falls be relocated to this area? to make room for another Action Zone Ride? Possibly, or down the road. Also, the train ride will be worked into this area with new scenery. Also, could Adventure Express be moving to this area? possibly.......it fits the type of ride slated for this area and would free up room for a more intense ride near Action Zone and Coney Island. The discussion I had with those "in the know" leaned toward these ideas. Of course, if they told, they said they'd have to kill me! LOL.
IcarusLives
So an exec was just willing to share all this information with you? Are you guys friends or was he just in a sharing mood that day? As for all the changes that Chatter mentioned, that seems like a lot. Yes, PKI would like to be consistantly themed but I don't think they are going to relocate an entire coaster just because it fits in better. TR:TR doesn't fit Rivertown, is that going to be moved too? Also that is a lot of trees to be clearing out just so people can watch a ride that is already popular. All we know so far is that something is happening to an area in Water Works. That's it. Stop playing the "I talked to somebody at PKI" game. It's getting old. CoasterXtreme
I think what you said might be true, but we will all just have to wait until they tell us what is going on! What ever they do I am sure it will improve the park. Viacom has done many good things with the park and it just keeps getting better. I wanted a coaster also but if we have to wait another year for one that just means it with be bigger and better.
