IndyGuy4KI
On Friday, September 27th IBEW_Sparky (Scott) and I left Indy around 5PM to make our trek up to Cedar Point for a fun weekend of ERT, Lunch, and more ERT! On our way we stopped at a Cracker Barrell for some dinner. We ended up at CP around 10:15 PM. Scott wanted to go get checked into the hotel and go get a few things at Meijer, so he dropped me off at the park so I could participate in Millie ERT from 12 to 1 AM. The park was very foggy from Haunt. I spent a few minutes at the front gate taking in GK, but wanted my first ride on it with Scott and did not get in line for it. This thing is amazingly lit up at night! I headed over towards Raptor knowing I wanted to ride it to get a sense as to what to expect from Banshee next season. I found Raptor to be testing a train (bust have been a protein spill) and got a neat looking pic. Not the best with a camera phone. Since at this point I was almost to Blue Streak I decided to go get a few rides in on it. I had a few great rides on Blue Streak. It always gives a great ride. It is more surprising because I have ridden The Racer so many times I know where all the elements are at. After getting two rides on BS I headed back to Raptor for a cycle wait for it and had an awesome ride on it. I am SO looking forward to Banshee with the GK restraints! At this point it was about 11:40 and wanted to start heading towards Mille and see how the line was and be ready for ERT. The line for Millie was about 15 minutes so I decided to go ahead and ride it before ERT started. When I got off the enthusiasts were there waiting for ERT to start. My first trip in I got a pic of the station as I got in the queue! This is as far back as the line was. During ERT I was able to get an additional 15 rides in on Millie. So a total of 19 rides in 2 hours and 40 minutes. I was pretty happy with that. They were still letting people ride, but I was ready to get back to the hotel and get some sleep to be ready for a full day of riding on Saturday. On Saturday we got to the park for normal Platinum ERT. here is our prime parking spot! Up at the front gate as we wait to go in. Of course today we wanted GK to be our first ride of the day and we were at the front of the line for entry. We headed straight to GK and had about a 3 cycle wait toget on and we took at the back of the train. Can I just say WOW! I was totally happy with this ride, I have no idea what several has said about winged riders being boring. This is my first one, but it was no where boring, what an awesome coaster with lost of forces, airtime, and smoothness! It would not hurt my feeling to have one of these at KI. We then went straight to Maverick for 2 rides on it for ERT. At that point the park was open to the GP so we hit up Mean Streak for a ride in the front and then a ride in the back. We were worried about it being to rough, but it gave a decant ride. At that point we wanted an easy flat and rode the Antique cars in front of Skyhawk. We then decided to hit up Gemini and Maggie! At this point we have lunch waiting on us and have some great food for our event. We then hit up Troika for a very short cycle on it. We then hit up Blue Streak and Calypso. We then headed over to take a cycle on Cedar Downs! At this point we had a scheduled lights on walk though of Zombie High School. We took some pictures on the way! We were all waiting to get in the queue for the tour. Here are some pictures from inside the Maze, and this one is a very LONG walk though. At least twice the size of Club Blood! More of our day coming up soon!
fanofFirehawk
Great Trip Report! Can't wait for the rest! I'm so glad you loved Gatekeeper, I very much so agree with you, it is smooth, and action packed. I am also glad you got a ride on Gemini, so many people just look over that ride, but it is my favorite ride in the entire park! But I am glad most of all that you had such a great and successful day at such a wonderful park.
IndyGuy4KI
A few tombstones as we head towards Millie. We then headed to Mille to get a ride on it. The line was an hour and 15 minutes. I got a pic while in queue. It took me about 15 minutes to get 2 trains into one picture! Proud of this one! We had an awesome ride on Mille and then we walked up front and Scott walked out to the car so I rode Ocean Motion while I waited. Next up Dragster! What an awesome ride on it! I am finally starting to get used to riding it. We then got a ride on Himalaya. I got a few more pics of Raptor! We then hit up Gemini, Maggie, Mean Streak, and then rode the train to the front of the park. At this point it was getting dark. We hit up Blue Streak two times for a few good rides on it. And heck, while we were there had to hit Calypso in the dark! We decided to see if we got a longer ride cycle on Troika this time so we rode it. Scott went to get our jackets out of the car so I hit up MaXair. We went and hit up GK one more time before our night ERT on GK started. Again a great ride at night! As we waited for ERT to start I took a few pics of the GK sign! We then rode GK for 1 hour straight for our ERT session. We really enjoyed it until we got in seat 1-1 left side. OMG!!!!! That is the insane seat! We really enjoyed that seat. Again this seat packs a punch and I love it! At this point we had 13 rides in on GK and are totally wore out from the day and ready to hit the bed and get some rest. On Sunday we hit the park for about 3 hours before heading back to Indy, but the park was so dead we got a lot of rides in! Of course we wanted to go to GK first thing. We then hit up Mille 2 times, then we went to Maverick 2 times. A few pics on the way! On our second time off we thought there was still time for ERT, but the park has been open for over 10 minutes and the park was so dead there was no running of the bulls. We were so surprised. We hit up Mean Streak again. Then it was Gemini! Wildcat train! We then hit up tilt-a-whirl! Here are a few Haunt props found along the way! Here is the Gemini midway that will look totally different next year! Next up Maggie! Then we just had to hit up Dragster again! At this point the clouds were starting to roll in and were slowly making our way to the front of the park. We hit up Matterhorn and Dodgem! We then rode the skyride and got a few shots while in the queue waiting for our car! We then decided to hit up Raptor in front row since it was a station wait. It was a little rough in front row. At this point it was going on 3 PM and the clouds were rolling in pretty quick. So we wanted to get one last ride in on GK and start heading for Indy. Another great ride on GK. We got a few pics before we left, but you can see the rain clouds rolling in and it started sprinkling as we were walking out of the park. Thanks to Scott for allowing me to join him over the weekend I really had a good time! I hope you have enjoyed the PTR. Thanks for reading!

IBEW_Sparky
Brad, you know that no thanks are needed, you are more than welcome to accompany me on any trip to The Point (or any other park for that matter) that I make. It is always great to have someone to talk to in the car, and spend the days at the park with! Fall Freakout has become a tradition, and I must say, out of the three that we have attended, this one was the topper. There is no way the weather could have been any more perfect on Saturday, and the Cedar Point PR Staff (Bryan Edwards and Annie Zelm) are ABSOLUTLEY fantastic in how open, friendly, helpful, and fun they are. I must also second the thoughts expressed here about Gate Keeper, it is an INCREDIBLE ride! I never had one single problem with the restraints, so the previous reported problems have obviously been solved, and this is an amazingly re-rideable coaster while still having plenty of forces to it. As Brad also said, 1-1 is THE SEAT, be it left or right side of the train! Great report, my Friend, and looking forward to next season and getting you out to more parks with me!! P.S..... Where is the pic of the Christmas Presents?
IndyGuy4KI
What, no Maverick pics? Sheesh... (Great report!) I took a bunch last Fall Freak Out so I didn't really want to take to many this year. Plus with the queue being so empty, we didn't have much time for pics. Here are a a few from last year.My favorite pic of Annie (one of their 2 PR guru's at CP)\ P.S..... Where is the pic of the Christmas Presents? So here is what Scott was referring too! I put the pic on my FB page and told my wife that I was doing some Christmas shopping for her from this list. She did not find it as funny and Scott and I.
