myklhicks
(As posted in the random photo forum) Has Don mentioned anything at all about why he wanted us to keep the weekend before the Super Bowl cleared? Because it's fast approaching.
BB1
We do not know, but here are a few of my predictions: Winter Blues Event: -Banshee Tour, with another group having a tour for the Winter, I wouldn't be suprised. -Kings Island Tour, not many people get to venture the park during the off season, so it would be a spectacular experience. KIC Event: -Somewhere to make the off season a tad bit shorter. Other than that, I've got nothing.
BoddaH1994
Not gonna happen this year. Sorry guys.
BB1
Oh well, I can still venture to the place where the loup is a large focal point and ride some radeaux in l'eau. BB1, riding for himself.
Fire-Beast-OF FEAR
We'll forever remain confined to the webcam and passenger pick-up. And by forever I mean opening day.
BoddaH1994
During the DB construction, I was at the park at least once a week for KIC photos. This year I haven't had the type of time that I did in '08-'09. When opening day rolled around in 2009 I was excited, but I didn't have the anticipation that I had in other years. It was just another park visit. I kind of missed it. So in a way, I'm glad it had panned out this way... at least for me.
jcgoble3
So there's will not be an event two weekends from now? Then I'll start making other plans for that weekend.
BeastForever
Darn, I was really looking forward to this...
Fire-Beast-OF FEAR
I still have this weekend free. Anyone want to do a small meet-up in that area?
thedevariouseffect
Guess I'll just watch the awesome awesome CP Rundown video until a new update...Still makes no sense to me to an extent but oh well... If anyone is still interested I wouldn't mind meeting up, maybe pull along the roadside for a few shots of the park, grab some dinner, why not. jcgoble3
There's a chance that I might possibly be interested in maybe informally meeting up for a possible dinner and maybe other things. I'd need to know a few more details before maybe thinking about it. In case you couldn't tell, it's not at all certain.
thedevariouseffect
If anyone has any ideas toss em down, I'm not looking for anything crazy exciting. If we do go down I may go to Cincy Karting that weekend as well just because Or GWL ( I miss it so much already)
myklhicks
If there's a meet up, I definitely want to go. I haven't really gone to any before because I'm such an introvert. People often take my silence as me being a jerk.haha
ohiocolts
Golden Corral. That was fun.
thedevariouseffect
That could be arranged, plus it's cheap for everyone's budget, especially if you don't eat and run around a waterpark the day before.. I ate POUNDS of food, it was glorious
BB1
I may be able to come, may not, the calendar is still in the works for that time period, but there's always a possibility of meeting up, if I'm not busy. Though, I will ask this, how would you describe Magi Quest? I may do that this time around. (BB1, a wizard, in a sense)
thedevariouseffect
It is more geared towards children as I understand, I did not do it, nor did it seem interesting to me. You'd have to ask others.
jcgoble3
^ I think the best way to describe MagiQuest would be that it's like a fantasy role-playing game, but live-action. EDIT: Yeah, it's mainly geared to preteens/teenagers, but adults can find it interesting as well depending on their tastes (especially if you're into role-playing games and the like).

Well, I primarily like Tolkien Middle Earth books, and this idea is interesting to have in the GWL. I may do this if I go. (Are Wizard hats included? )
jcgoble3
No wizard hats are included. Feel free to bring your own.
BB1
That's a shame, BB1, who will probably pick up a stick, wear a wizard hat, and scream "You Shall Not Pass!" to those trying to enter the fridge.
Fire-Beast-OF FEAR
I know this might be more out of the way that what you guys suggested but I say we can meet up in Downtown Cincinnati. The Cyclones are in town that weekend so we could catch a game and eat somewhere at the banks beforehand.
thedevariouseffect
Again I'm up for anything just let me know so I can plan and budget if I can get this moving. Maybe even Don would be interested in a game? Hmm?
Fire-Beast-OF FEAR
Maybe Don should come out of retirement and see if he would be interested in Playing in a game? Hmm?
malem
I'll probably be there if we do something that will last most (or all) of the day. To refresh everyone's minds, rejected Holiday Party ideas included go-karting, EnterTrainment Junction, a FEC including laser tag and indoor trampoline bouncing, bowling, NMUSAF, and ice skating. I also like Duncan's idea of going downtown for a hockey game, though I'm usually not much a spectator sports person. For those talking about GWL, it's rather expensive that weekend. The best promo rates, available through tomorrow, would be ~$60/person for Friday night:
sikkinixx99
Ok I say we pull a Clark W. Griswald and go marching thru the front gates BB guns in tow and demand rides on Banshee!! Wait its not finished yet. Man!! Sorry I retract everything I said Don it was all just a joke lol. On a serious note I would love to meet with you fellow KIC folk but on the 25th I'm heading to Monster Jam with my 13 year old son. Had to do the Vacation bit at least I found it funny
BB1
BB1 does not approve of using BB guns.
thedevariouseffect
BB Guns.. I remember my first beer All jokes aside yeah now looking at prices, GWL won't draw as much as the holiday party this time around, that idea is out. I'd love to do NMUSAF but that's an hour away from the park, that offer still stands to anyone who does want to go through with me though
LoraX
If there's a meet up, I definitely want to go. I haven't really gone to any before because I'm such an introvert. People often take my silence as me being a jerk.haha People won't think you are a jerk if you are quiet. If they do like they did for my daughter and I, they will make you feel welcomed. Great group of people to meet up with. Meeting up at Golden Corral might work for us. It was fun. The food at that location was pretty good as well. malem
If we did the Air Force museum as a group, perhaps people could carpool from Cincinnati/Mason (and Indy) to cut down on driving. A personal tour there is an opportunity that KIC won't have for a long time. (There's a Golden Corral nearby, according to Google maps, so ohiocolts should be happy.) If we want to stay closer to the park, we might want to (again) consider EnterTrainment Junction. They have a "buy-one-get-one" offer in January, making the price $8 per person for an all-inclusive ticket. The miniature Coney Island recreation there really looks impressive, and playing in a funhouse is probably something that this group would enjoy.
