January 22, 201412 yr Stumbled across this video just now and thought folks here would enjoy it. It's a video of the classic Scott Joplin piece "Solace" featuring dozens of old postcards of Coney Island and other Cincinnati attractions.
January 23, 201412 yr Nice find! Some of those post cards are from Chester Park, which was a competitor to Coney in the early 1900s. It was located over off of Spring Grove Avenue. I believe that the Cincinnati Water Works now has a building on the site of what was the park.
January 23, 201412 yr Author You're correct. The site once occupied by Chester Park is home to CIncinnati Water Works offices and assorted other businesses. That's only about 5 minutes from my house.
January 26, 201412 yr I always wondered where that was located, so thank you guys for providing a landmark reference!
January 26, 201412 yr I have passed the old Chester Park site many times. It's near Spring Grove Cemetery in St. Bernard. I guess I'm a little late.
January 27, 201412 yr Magnificent photo! Thank you for sharing! Can anyone share any specs on the two coasters pictured?

January 27, 201412 yr Excellent photo TG1993! Too bad there aren`t many stats on those coasters other than the designer.
February 10, 201412 yr You're correct. The site once occupied by Chester Park is home to CIncinnati Water Works offices and assorted other businesses. That's only about 5 minutes from my house. How ironic, the reason Chester Park closed is because they were in the process of restructuring financially but couldn't pay their water bill! pilotank
February 10, 201412 yr Could have been a conspiracy for the Cincinnati Water Works to take the property as it was a prime location at the time.
