When was the Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera at Kings Island?

I was just looking at the pictures on KICentral.com and I clicked on the pictures for the FX Action Theater, and I saw a sign for the Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera, what time era was this?

^Huh. I don't remember that ever playing at the park. I definitely would have ridden that! So with that, I would venture a guess that that was probably 2005, my "year of disillusionment" with the park, in which I didn't visit at all that summer (even though Mrs. Gator swears that we did, but we did go to Winterfest that year though).

I assume that was the same movie ride that was at Universal Studios Florida. If so, I liked that one.

Yes, this was the same film that was shown at Universal Studios Florida. I had ridden it back in 1997 when I was there with some friends and was surprised to see that it was the same one being shown at KI.

Here is some info I found on Wikipedia:

"In 2006, The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera was presented. It had been closed after its last run in 2002 at Universal Studios Florida. In 2007 the Hanna-Barbera ride was taken down and was never shown at the theater again."

Nice, I was only a year off! Summer of 2005 I didn't go at all, 2006 I only went once. That explains why I missed it.

As Voicetek said, it only ran for part of 2006.

Prior to the film starting, while guests were loading into their seats, the Cartoon Friends song from Enchanted Voyage piped over the speaker system. It was a nice, nostalgic touch.

Me and my brother were getting ready to watch/ride it at PKI, and like 30 seconds into the film, it quit working. So other than the first 30 seconds, I've never really seen it.

And, after it left Kings Island, it was presented at Kentucky Kingdom. It was strangely surreal seeing it there.
