Was anybody who reads these boards at the park on Saterday the twelve. Me and my family where told to go home buy park security, during a incident around three oclock. Some man threaten to hurt himself with a knife at the metal dectors. We waited for a hour and like so many others and were told to go home. The next day I went back up and tried to talk to guest relations about this, and they denied anybody was told to go home and refused to give me infromation on talking to somebody in upper management. They tried to get me to go to security and log my complaint(ye right). If I can get names or infromation from anybody on how to get ahold of sombody in management and not there p.o box adress I would greatly appreciate this.

Thanks

You aren't going to get anything other than Guest Relations. Even if you did happen to get any upper management they will most likely not even read it and send it directly back to guest relations.

If it really happened (which I was told that they only stopped letting people in until it was over) than they are denying it because they expect that you want a rain check or a refund. Thus making it easier to deal with because it is against park policy to give refunds on admision(they've never done it). Also, since it wasn't until the next day you complained they probably figured that you simply read about it in the paper and were trying to complain and get in free.

I wasn't there to see what they said or how it was said but I can see where Guest Relations was going with that. Sorry if you were inconvienced in any way and hope you were still able to enjoy the park on Sunday.

Skion,

I will check tomorrow to see if any of the security people told guests to leave. We can't do anything about it now, but they should not have told you to leave the park.

During the incident the front gate was shut down and guests were told to leave through the employee entrance/exit (not HBL to the best of my knowledge). They can't let any one into the park through the employee entrance/exit because there is just no way to check for hand stamps, scan tickets, etc. They were holding people back from getting into the park until the incident at the front gate was finished for the guest's safety.

Like beastfreak said, I am sorry for the inconvience and any miscommunication. The rest of the season is in front of us and I hope you come back and enjoy the park.

No offense if this is legit, but if you were an adult trying to get a hold of somebody. Wouldn't you at least know how to spell basic words and use correct punctuation? Also if you were inside the park wouldn't you notice people not leaving and going back towards rides? And if you were walking up to the gates and they told you to leave you can always go back another day if you have a pass or tickets you bought online or anywhere other than the park because they are good for anyday of the year...

Not necessarily, I believe I recall Kylee saying at the photo shoot for Delirium that tickets this year are for that day only. I thought I recalled it always being that way. Besides, if you have a family and are vacationing at PKI, then the park simply tells you to go home? and you've bought tickets for that day? I have to agree with them, I'd be mad too. And that is not a preventable or plan-ahead thing like: weather or crowd or heat. I too would want my money back, and I am sure that if you would have stood your ground, then you would have gotten your manager. And if I were you, I would have demanded a manager. I have been in a situation like this before at the parks in Florida, and they said the same thing. We simply stood our ground and told them no. We got our tickets back and some comps. But, also be cautious, I fully support your decision to confront the park and I believe it should be done, however, there is no reason to be mean or rude to the park. It works much better if you are calm and pleasant, but also firm. But take this warning, you will get no where if you are rude or incooperative to the park.

Give it a break. Let me give you a little insight into the rest of the story you probably didn't see. Firstly, the cops and firefighters want you out of their way so that you do not become a victim as well. if someone is threatening to use a weapon, the police need room to work with that person, even if it means closing all the gates into the park. You could be walking within ten feet of this problematic person, and then all of a sudden you could become a victim too. This is for your safety. Chances are, after the police either talked this individual down, or subdued him in some way, they then had the firefighters and EMS personnel move in, help restrain the individual and then take him to a Psych. Ward. These people are just doing their jobs, like the rest of us FF's, and we see a lot of stuff that the General Public does not, with how people behave when they feel threatened and what that can lead to. not only in terms of people trying to harm others, but also trying to harm themselves. It is easiest for Public Safety personnel to rope off an entire area, than have to worry about you getting in the way, and getting yourself into trouble.

Obviously, getting used to the metal detectors is gonna take some time, and PKI is gonna need to have a backup plan so that people can still enter and exit the park when incidents like this one occur. Most likely over time, PKi will install some additional metal detectors as well as backup gates, so that people can still enter and exit the park when they want to, if things like this were to ever happen again.

Just remember this, it is all about safety. Not just your safety as a visitor, but the safety of the park, its employees, the Cops on the run, and also the firefighters/EMS personnel. Give them a break. They are only doing their jobs, and helping to keep everyone SAFE! cool.gif

Hello, did I not just explain this crystal clear? The cops and the firefighters are gonna say whatever they want to get you to leave them alone. Obviously in a situation such as this, there are bigger problems than you getting into the park, maybe the fact that some guy with aknife is threatening to kill himself? I would epect you to get a so called one word answer, to get you to leave them alone so they can focus on the situation. God, its like, its all about everyone else, and nobody wants to give a little respect to thsese guys, considering the fact that they are trying to keep the park safe and other people from being hurt. Us public safety personnel always get crap like this, its like we are in the way or something, until someone decides they need our help. What the H*LL?
