What should they give that rider?

Nothing.

I was amazed when I saw all that stuff Banshee's millionth rider got. I mean a simple banner or sign would be fine, but what have these milestone riders done to deserve these prizes more than other park guests. It seems a little absurd and cruel to me. Why not have a contest or something to allow guests to actually EARN these prizes?

Absurd? Cruel?

What has he done to "deserve" these prizes more than other park guests? Well... nothing? That's the point?

Remember Disney's Year(s) of a Million Dreams where Cast Members randomly handed out FastPasses, tours, gifts, even night stays in Cinderella Castle to random guests as they exited attractions? Is that cruel? It was random, just as this fella was lucky enough to get in line at the exact second he did and not a moment before or after. I don't think the young man left with some inflated ego believing he "deserved" them. It was a fun little thing to celebrate! How lucky of him to be the 1,000,000th rider, and how fun for Kings Island to bother to commemorate that and make it into a little to-do. He'll never forget that moment! Best day of his year, I'd reckon!

You suggest contests to "earn" similar prizes. They happen often! See Tweet-ups. Or are those cruel because they exclude those who don't have Twitter? Should it be a Banshee Quiz of statistics where people like us have a leg up (or two)? What if we just did a lottery of all guests in the park? If you feel it's cruel that he got a basket of souvenirs that he didn't "earn..." I don't know what to tell you. Absurdity abounds. Cruelty is out there. Neither is at play here.

GYK, wondering if rcwizard13 would've promptly turned down the souvenirs, the poster, and the group photo if he had happened to be the 1,000,000th rider? Certainly he would've...! ...right?

I think it's cool! It's recognition to a park guest, which is a customer.

Prizes are always cool to get and to give away.

It's gets people to ride, and keeps the ride in the news.

They didn't have to do anything, but imagine getting off of the ride and having people whoop for you and hand you things?

Well first off, the tweet-ups are almost exactly what I was referring to. Tweet-up winners earn the prizes by following KI on twitter and then locating where Don is. These people are doing more than the average park guest who has come and decided to ride Banshee. Why not have a special Tweet-Up in celebration of Banshee's millionth rider. You could even give rid of the whole social media aspect of it and make a series of announcements over the parks PA system giving hints as to where to locate Don. The one who finds him has now earned it by doing more than just getting in line.

Obviously absurd and cruel were a poor choice of words. It just seems unfair to me is all. Whether or not I would accept it had I been the rider would depend on whether or not I can think of this argument in that moment. Certainly, though, if I was park management I would not give out so much to the "single" millionth rider. I would perhaps take a group picture of everyone who was on that train with a banner, put together a press release, and have the special PA contest.

Lastly, you may question why I say the whole train vs. a single rider. Well, take for instance the very first run of Banshee with someone in row 1 seat 1, and someone in row 8 seat 1. Who's the first rider? Just the person in row 1? No, they both are. So, why should that change when we get to a million, or ten million, or a hundred million?

You mean "Fright Lane"? They work like Fast Lane in that you get expedited access to most mazes and rides. I would expect to see Fright Lane plus as well, with 1-2 mazes on the tier as well as the rides on the regular FL+ tier.
