Tanner
Got to the park around 11:30, got in and waited next to Mandarin Cuisine for the ropes to drop. Yes I heard your speech Dragonlord... My friend and I headed to Flight of Fear first to be on the first train of the day, along with second seat from the front. What a bang to start off the coaster season with. This ride provided everything I wanted in the off season. Next we headed to Vortex through what seemed like a deserted park, and Vortex proved itself once again. Great speed. Did the seats have padding last year? Steve, towards the end of the day you didn't seem too comfortable on it! Rode three times. Third was Beast! However there was one slight problem. Other than new signs right outside the ride and inside the station warning you, this ride wasn't "Hollywoodized" and I was a little dissapointed. Of course opening day isn't until next week. The seatbelts don't effect you at all except when idiots don't buckle them. Very comfortable. Tomb Raider was next with a small wait. I still love this ride even if it is the same even though I got drenched in seat #77. However they left the middle row open. Why? Top Gun was the same old Top Gun. That's all I got to ride since lines were long and I snapped 155 pictures. I'm not too appreciative of the sunburn on my face however. What was up with the 4PM hour today. Seems every ride in the park went down for a while then. I know of Beast, Drop Zone, Vortex, and both sides of Racer. Was this some kind of training that was planned? Also need to say thanks to Joe for the tickets. Here's the last picture I took tonight, just a preview and it's a time exposure of Delirium. SOB/Gun Steve-O
Today was definately very hectic. The 4PM thing was definately not planned. As far as I know, every single ride in the park died. I'm not sure of the cause (and even if I was, you all know of the gag order). Once it was fixed, then we had some rowdy guests to deal with - many line jumpers on SOB, and apparently there was someone threatening someone or something - but nobody could prove anything. Tanner
Line jumpers were horrible today, I forgot to mention on Vortex when it happened they even had a guy go down below the station trying to get out of the line.
GreenGhost2003
Man that jacked up...Yeah people can be Real A$$es sometimes I should be at the Park tomorrow I wonder if I will see anything New?
Tanner
I wouldn't expect anything that new. Other than some repainted rides in Coney Mall.
drewbari
Are the set belts on The Racer and The Beast easy to get on? I have all ways have had a hard geting the set belt on on The Beastie.
Tanner
Yes the seatbelts are very easy to get on. When the photos are added to the site you should see how they are set up.
coasterrz
What time do you think the photos will be added to the site? Also, how crowded was the park? Tomorrow, I`m debating what time to go to the park. I have to go to CAC for about 2 hours starting at 2. So that leaves from either 10-1 or about 5-8. I am slightly concerned that if I go from 5-8 they might close down early with it being so cold tomorrow and the fact that crowds might be light. Tanner
Today the park was light in the morning, got on 4 rides in the first hour and those were FOF, Vortex, Beast, and TR:TR and most of that was because TRTR was only using the front and last row of the gondola for some reason. Then the park got extremely crowded so I stopped riding pretty much everything.
SOB/Gun Steve-O
So that leaves from either 10-1 or about 5-8. I am slightly concerned that if I go from 5-8 they might close down early with it being so cold tomorrow and the fact that crowds might be light. I'd recommend 5-8. We are much more likely to keep rides closed in the morning when its cold. The coldest temp of the day usually occurs just before dawn, high usually comes between 3-5, so you should definately be good. The rides get warmed up when we cycle them - and they don't start throwing people out of the park before closing time, no matter how small the crowds are. Just hope that there isn't another "incident" that shuts down every single ride in the park for an hour like there was today.
TheRickster
Yea everyride in actionzone went out today around 4. Actually I believe it started before that... I know The Vortex was having problems sob was down to one train. Backwards racer I seen cycling some empty trains. Alot of angry people though especially in the parking lot I seen alot of feuds going on. My mom said security had to break up a couple fights. I also had a big problem with smoking in the que lines. I know that its alot of employee's first day but I only had one employee say something to me all day which is out of the norm. I didnt catch his name or I wouldve went to GR (do they let employees comment on other employee's if they are guests?). I feel for boobknos today both of his rides looked like they were being crapped on. Not to mention people started a line outside of sob's line when it was down. I seen tiny out there hasslin the crowd. But tomarrow's my first day on the front lines and im ready for it so if anyone is there look for Ricky on beast and say whatsup! DegenRider
I am not under any gag order and I saw it 1st hand. It was a quick power outage. That in theory should of tripped off all the saftey systems thus making a huge mess. I left at 4pm with no Beast of any kind. I was sad I have some photos and as soon as I get home I will do a special guest update
Tanner
I'm actually sending him the files now. Zipped the pictures are over 117 megabytes.
Beastfreak
Yes, power went out across the area for a minute. Parents called me to say the power went out at home in West Chester so it wasn't just KI. Thus wasn't just limited to Action Zone. This caused everyone to go food stands to eat, which of course we were having problems due to the power outage as well. I was quite suprised by guests reactions to this problem. Someone asked me if they could complain to get free tickets for another day?!?! What the heck? You already had free tickets today knowing it was the park dry run day and you want to complain to come back free another day?!?!? What's with people. teenageninja
I also had trouble with line jumpers 2 or 3 times. People decide to skip the bathroom on their way to ride knowing that the line is going to be long, especially today.
TraderJake
That power outage was interesting to say the least, as it didn't only affect rides, but also many other departments who experienced the ripple effects of the rides being closed. I know for Fudge n Fun there was a huge influx of people into it once the rides went down, but just like food merch was having its own problems. Today (4/4) should be better from a employee standpoint, for some reason I just don't think there'll be a whole lot of people coming to the park. DragonLord
Shout out to all the SoB crew! You guys were the last thing in the park to shut down on the 3rd. I had to stand and wait a long, long time for all those crazy riders to get off! Overall, it was a blast! There were a lot of line jumpers and a few smokers in the lines. Typical things. The power outage was crazy... it only blinked off for a split second, but it was enough to interupt power to everything in the park. We found out that something in West Chester got hit or something and that effected power everywhere... even as far as Forest Fair Mall. Some of the outages lasted a few hours from what I understand. Thanks for all those who were really cool about it! It only takes a few hot heads to tick people off, so it was something that was a real learning experience for everyone. AZ Kinda Guy
Ha! I didn't even know there was a power "hiccup". We didn't feel a thing down at DOT but Drop Zone did.

AZ Kinda Guy
Nah. They aren't so great. Heck, if I was running one train I'd be the last ride out too.
