RadioRiders Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 If this has been brought up I apologize, but does anyone know the current name of the ride that came to Kings Island from what was once Geauga Lake? Mike Quote
KIBeast Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Yes, Firehawk is the former X-Flight from GL. I rode it at Geauga Lake. I wanna say a black/bright green paint scheme 3 Quote
RadioRiders Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Thank you, that's what I was guessing. Mike Quote

Here is a picture from RCDB of X-Flight at Geauga Lake...which is now Firehawk... And here is a video (linked by RCDB) that shows it in Action there back in 2001, its debut season: 3 Quote
IBEW_Sparky Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 And it was run FLAWLESSLY with the SFWoA/GL crews. That ride never, EVER stacked when it was there, that crew was like poetry in motion. As the passengers were sitting up in one train, the passengers in the other were reclining, like clockwork. 2 Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Of course, the fact that after the first few years there were typically dozens of people in the park helped. 5 Quote
cholderfield Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Great point! I's only been to Geauga Lake once and it was a few years before they closed it down. I couldn't believe how empty the park was! Middle of summer, I believe it was a Friday or Saturday, and nearly every ride wait was 5-10 minutes. 1 Quote
RollerNut Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 http://rcdb.com/3793.htm?p=19652 How does it recline the seats? The above picture is at KI but I didnt see these Iin the video. Carowinds uses these to lift and lower the seats on Nighthawk. Quote
PhantomTheater Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 At Geauga Lake, X-Flight utilized on board motors to raise and lower the seats. They were much smoother than the system at KI, however the KI system is more reliable. 3 Quote
