DBInternational
Hey Guys, I want to start by saying that it has been quite a while since I last posted here on the wonderful KICentral Forums and it is good to be back. I just wanted to point out something cool I noticed today. While looking into the new "construction area" of Rivertown on Google Earth, I noticed that the entire park is now in 3D. Unfortunately, the satellite images they used when creating these 3D images are from August 2012, so Son of Beast is included instead of Banshee but it's still super cool. Also upon further investigation, I discovered that basically the entire city of Mason is in 3D now. So make sure you go check it out when you can because it looks pretty cool. Here's some screenshots I took earlier: Enjoy, DBI
The Interpreter
Welcome back! While you were gone, the TOS changed. Links to others' works are now required. So please post links to those. And, again, welcome back! EDIT: See below.
jcgoble3
^ From looking at those screenshots, they appear to be from the Google Earth program, which is something that is installed on your hard drive, not something that runs in a web browser (like Google Maps). So if he took the screenshots himself, then there is nothing to provide a link to (since linking to a program on his hard drive wouldn't work).
The Interpreter
And posting those images on a public forum is a violation of the terms of service for the program. It's no different than posting a professional photographer's work. EDIT: Keep reading...
jcgoble3
...what? According to Google's own permissions guidelines, screenshots can be shared freely as long as attribution to the data provider is included (and in some cases this is already baked into the screenshot itself).
The Interpreter
Then there you go. And it was attributed. So we are good. Carry on.
Hoeter
I checked this out last night before I went to bed. I have Google Earth Pro on my laptop. All I could see in 3D was the Eiffel Tower, Drop Tower, and the fountains. Son of Beast wasn't even in the imagery, it was a picture of Banshee from 2014.
MaestroFanatic
I thought I would share that this is available online through Google Maps. GE may have better angles, but the models are viewable online.
Sythe
All you need to do to get models on Google earth is turn terrain and 3D buildings on.
sixohdieselrage
Man, I forgot how huge Son of Beast was until I saw it again on Google Earth! Sent from an Indestructible Phone
diamonbackandbeastlover
On Bing Maps if you go into Birds Eye view which is their 3d version Son of Beast is there. But go back to satellite and you get Banshee.
sixohdieselrage
Yeah. Funny how they haven't updated it. Or maybe nobody has made the 3D model yet. Sent from an Indestructible Phone
diamonbackandbeastlover
Also note on all maps I have seen the old layout is still there for the park entrance even when not in satellite.
