Does anyone else remember when the path to get to The Beast's entrance had yellow "paw" prints stretching about from where Backlot Stunt Coaster is today? I can definitely remember that.

But for some reason, I'm also remembering something similar for The Vortex, like the iron glove holding tracks. Does anyone else remember this, or am I mis-remembering? Was there something similar with any other rides? I vaguely seem to recall something else, but I'm blanking on what it was.

They were both there in my youth, and both were often needed, particularly Vortex which almost always seemingly spilled beyond the entrance.  IIRC, if the line is back to the entrance, its approx. a 15 min wait to board the train as there is little que area in the station.  Vortex has always been a people eating machine, and lines move(d) quick.

There was a discussion on this somewhere on these forums about a year ago; probably several others as well if you do a forum search.

They had logos painted on the ground for Adventure Express, Flight Commander and I believe Top Gun when it opened.

Those prints weren't the original. The original ones of the 80s and 90s were yellow. I believe PKI painted these in 2004 for the 25th Anniversary.

I don't know the history of the claws, but you can see them in the KI 20th Anniversary Special, and they were yellow.

As for the other prints, I unfortunately don't really know.

Remember both of those well. Loved The Beast prints. Always seemed to overlook The Vortex ones though but do remember a little bit near the station. Do remember waiting in line for it that stretched back tot he Dodgems. Though that was still only about a 40 minute wait.

Best version of the 20th Anniversary Special is here:

Also, the 25th anniversary would've been in '97. 2004 was KI's 32nd year of operations..
