whengodsaysgo
As a newb, I've been looking around the forums, doing a lot of reading on my down time at work. I love reading all of the discussions, past and present. I love knowing as much as I can about all of the things I love - KI being one of them. So, I saw on @Mystic.Timber1's wondering on the Rumors feed what was going on in the field behind the Banshee. So, I used my Columbo-like research skills and headed on over to Google Earth to peek at the park, which I hadn't done before. It still shows Son of Beast! It's interesting to see this time period of the park and what it looked like, but at the same time I kind of wanted to see what MT looked from the sky (in 3D of course)! I wonder when they'll do an update? These images have to be a few years old. FoolCrzy
When I look at google earth on my PC, I see Banshee and no SOB. The Android APP shows the opposite...
IndyGuy4KI
I see the old image, but I used her link.
kikid74
Try mapquest.com. Based on the sat images at Kings Island and on my property, I'd guesstimate those images are only 12-18 months old.
kikid74
I used google chrome, but also just clicked her link. I opened up google maps in a separate tab, did a separate search, and still see SOB/no Banshee

jeffywest
Yeah that's interesting. Google Earth has an interesting feature where you can look at past satellite views on the non mobile version. It is located on the upper toolbar. I'm on my now but will look for it later on my Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
jcgoble3
According to the old version of Google Earth (the one that you download and install on your computer's hard drive, now called Google Earth Pro), the current satellite imagery was taken on June 11, 2016. It shows Banshee and Tropical Plunge, as well as the Mystic Timbers construction fence and the start of clearing behind that fence. I don't know what the web version or mobile versions show, as I do not have either Google Chrome installed on my computer or the Google Earth app installed on my phone. I do note that on Google Maps, the satellite view shows different imagery depending on whether 3D mode is on or off. If 3D mode is on (which is the default), you get old imagery from what appears to be 2012 (based on the presence of both the second wave pool and Son of Beast). If you turn off 3D mode (click on the three horizontal lines in the upper left and then click "3D on" to turn it off), then you get the updated 2016 imagery that shows on Google Earth Pro.
