chibul
Is anyone else seeing this? Our platinum pass show on the KI website as expiring on September 1, 2022. We did NOT get them at Canada's Wonderland.
Gabe
On the FB KI fan site, Jim Flugal has posted that it's a software error the park is aware of and is fixing. It should go back to its regular expiration date soon.
super7
They better not extend them again or Cedar Fair will go bankrupt. They have to have revenue to operate!

As busy as they have been this season, they are still predicted to show a net loss this quarter without the SP revenue. Remember that next time the park calls the season pass people entitled or sycophantic enthusiasts say the park doesn’t owe anyone anything. 1

Their whole business model of cheap season passes, season drink and dining plans is hugely flawed. It makes for over crowded that can’t make money. The whole strategy of season passes in the past was in park spending. But they eliminated that with the drink and dining plans. Also giving away the water park is not a good business plan either.

Oldschool75
* Park visitation is strong, currently at about 85% of 2019 levels, according to Witherow. And much of the remaining lag in attendance can be attributed to the slow resumption of group travel and continued capacity restrictions at Canada’s Wonderland in Toronto. (Note: The company does not release individual park attendance figures, although Cedar Point, Kings Island, Canada’s Wonderland and Knott’s Berry Farm in California traditionally draw the biggest crowds.)* Per capita spending continues to increase across all categories, including food and beverage, merchandise, games and extra-charge attractions. Per-guest spending so far in 2021 is $59.57, up 18% from two years ago.* The number of season passholders continues to increase, up 8% from 2019.https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2021/08/cedar-fair-says-cedar-point-other-parks-have-almost-returned-to-pre-pandemic-attendance-levels.htmlSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
JimParker85
The chain got killed on the full year pass extension and the crushing loss of having Wonderland closed through June. Add in the inability to get parks open early enough this year to meet the enormous spring break demand that other parks saw, and these results are not surprising. Not having a membership style program, rather than season passes, really tied their hands with the extensions. Since so few parks in the chain opened last season, it would have been tough not to extend. Perhaps they could have limited the extension at CP, KI, Dorney and WoF, but even that would have been risky.

Wait has the park ever said that? I hear people on here say things like that all the time but it would be really surprising to hear that someone from the park said that lol. You have a good point though regardless.
