HabloRM
As I was reading in the post about the "Green Light" to the new Resort, a lot of people said that they were going to be sad about the campground leaving, and I also read that the campground was never full. Just wanted to know what your opinion about the campground was.
delirium123
I never stayed at the campground, and never even planned on ever staying there. I cant wait for the resort to open. Thats more my thing, not camping outside. Im not speaking for everyone else, this is just my opinion, but i wouldn't be mad if they didn't relocate the campground. Im sure the resort will bring in more guests than the campground ever did.
ZosoBeast
Stayed there by myself for the first/last time over labor (or "Labor-Dabor" for some of you) weekend last year. I was pretty sure that it would be the last year it would be around so I decided to stay just so I can say that I did. I am not that much of a camper, but for what it was worth, it was pretty nice! Was pretty cool being in my tent and hearing SOB and TOP GUN do there thing!
Columbus coasternut
I never stayed there or ever planned on it. Round trip from columbus is only 170 miles.
italianchef
I visited the Campground and walked around it.....but never actually stayed there. Quite frankly Mrs. Chef and I are city slickers whose idea of camping is spending the night at Travelodge. The closest I ever got to camping was sleeping on my living room floor when I was too drunk to go to bed after a party. Sorry. Nevertheless, I have great respect for camping and campers, even though I am not into camping, All I can say to the folks who are sad about losing the Kings Island Campground is I feel your pain. To this day, I still miss my beloved Phantom Theater. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
Beast79
I had plans last year but they feel through. I helped clean the campground all day when that storm came through and knocked the sign down.
bbqace
I stayed there many times with my family. I won't be able to afford to stay at the new lodge. I'm sure that PKI will relocate the campgrounds. All major parks have them. Also, the survey from a few months ago gave a little insight as to what they might do in the themeing of a new campgrounds. Will not having a campground for a year or two keep my family from going to PKI. No. We have too much fun there.
CoastersNSich
I've actually set foot on the campground to eat with some friends, but I've never actually spent the night there since I live less than 30 min. away. Plus I've never been a fan of camping. It may be a loss, but the Great Wolf Lodge is a great move for the area! I do hope though they open a new themed campground to the east of the existing one as rumored.
Screwball
I stayed at the campground twice last season, once in June for 5 days, and in August for another 5. It's one of the only ways I can come from Canada and spend a good amount of time at the park without accomodation costs breaking the bank. Plus it's so conveniant being that close to the park, when you get hungry at lunch or dinner you can catch the trolley back to the campground cook up some food and head back. While it's nice to stay in a hotel, their is such a great feeling about being so close to the park and waking up to the sounds of SOB flying down the first hill. Vortex
Also, the survey from a few months ago gave a little insight as to what they might do in the themeing of a new campgrounds. Well the survey was for all Paramount Parks, not just Kings Island. I took the PGA survey and got the same thing as Kings Island.
Scooby_Doo
I think this is just wrong I mean alot of people stay at that campground and most are not members to this board so cannot vote but anywho I will not spend my hard earned money at a over-priced lodge I rather stay at days inn or in my van until we get the new campgrounds I hope that the campgrounds are well themed.
