January 18, 200521 yr Fearfest Winterfest Personally I thought Winterfest was because kids could enjoy it all day long
January 24, 200521 yr WinterFest,Who cares about the family crowd parks do because they bring in the money.
January 25, 200521 yr Halloween is meant to be a shock! Winter, well what is really scary about winter? frostbite? ha ha ha Winterfest is Much more family friendly.
January 25, 200521 yr Winterfest is because of all the events they had at winterfest that familes could do together. Such as ice skating, horse and buggy rides. And of course the holidays just bring familes closer together.
January 25, 200521 yr Nothin' like a dozen heads hanging from ropes and a chainsaw wielding maniac to bring families closer together
January 25, 200521 yr winterfest is definately more family oriented, but I would go to fearfest instead of winterfest anyday
January 25, 200521 yr That's a no brainer - WinterFest...maybe. FUN BY DAY FearFest is more childish than WinterFest. But Fright by Night FearFest is NOT NOT NOT for families with small children. Have a great off season! Italian Chef
January 25, 200521 yr ^Gotta go with Alien Seed on this one. You can't say that being frightened or frightening together as a family is not family oriented. My family used to put on a haunted house at Halloween in the neighborhood where I grew up. It brought us together as a family. We had a lot of fun!
January 25, 200521 yr I would say both are equal when it comes to being family oriented. Usually during Halloween families want to get thier family together and go to a haunted house or something, to do stuff that relates to Halloween. Try to keep things festive. Same with Christmas time. Families want to get together and do Christmas things.
February 7, 200521 yr That's a no brainer - WinterFest...maybe. FUN BY DAY FearFest is more childish than WinterFest. But Fright by Night FearFest is NOT NOT NOT for families with small children. Have a great off season! Italian Chef You would be suprised how many people bring their small kids with them and make them go through the mazes. Then they get all peeved b/c their kid got scared and upset and sometimes they get in trouble for hitting a character or something. Geezs. Parents now-a-days! (Not you of course, Chef, I'm sure your a great daddy!) Winterfest is MUCH more family oriented. I know of a lot of older couples that would get passes to the park or at least come in during Winterfest with their grandkids. It was a blast when I was there as a kid. Of course, that was when they did figure skating and ice shows on the stage in Festhaus.
February 7, 200521 yr Both events are for families. My kids loved the Children’s activities PKI had for them. We spent the entire day together riding rides and doing all the fearfest activities. I did not take my 3 year old though the haunted houses but my older kids enjoyed them. As far as Winterfest goes why are we even talking about something PKI does not currently have. They haven’t even announced that it will be here for 2005. I would go but there would not be as much to do as Fearfest. I can't imagine as many of the rides being open. And let’s not forget about the bitter cold. Either way I would go but think that Fearfest isn't getting a realistic look.
March 10, 200521 yr Personally, I think both would be family oriented. Last fall, my mom, dad, sister, and one of my neighbors went To FearFest and we had a blast. We acually had good laughs together when one us got scared. I would recommend fear Fest for Families that have older kids and Winter Fest for familes that have both younger and older. I've never been to winterfest. I miss PKI and I think it's great to have Winterfest so you can go to PKI in the winter.
March 12, 200521 yr I have never been to either one but i have seen some pics of winterfest and it looks more family-oriented.
