Paramount Theater question

Oh, blue screen tech... I totally forgot that the theater uses that! It doesn't really make scenery appear, it is just edited in! Scrim effects are what makes scenery and props appear. Blue/Green screening or ChromaKeying, is just method used to replace one color with a digital image. -Hauntguy

You are all right..I should know since I'm an employee at a local news afiliate as well as a theatre minor. The meteorologist also uses the chromakey on a daily basis. It is a great effect, but really anyone can do it with the right software and a green or blue background. In terms of a scrim....it is basically a translucent screen that can be flown in and out. Anything behind the scrim can be made to appear just by simply illuminating whatever is behind it and reducing the amount of light in front of the scrim. To make an object disapear, you simply reverse the process.
