darkmarkman
I'm heading up to the Point this Saturday and Sunday (June 21 and 22). I have not been in 20 years. I know we will be doing some waiting (I can't afford to drop 500 bucks on Fast Lane). What are some tips on how to maximize our time and get the most rides in? When is the best time to go to certain rides, what line should we get in at the end to get a last ride, etc? Thanks for any helpful info. I'm going to be honest, I think Saturday is going to be an especially rough day for crowds unless there's rain or storms in the forecast. If you can, try to park at the water park lot and enter through the Magnum gate. From there, you should go straight to Frontiertown and ride Maverick then Steel Vengeance as those rides don't have the best capacity and most people will want to start their visit at the front of the park. From there, go counter-clockwise throughout the park (CCMR, Millie, Iron Dragon, TT2, Valravn, Wild Mouse, GateKeeper, Raptor, Corkscrew, Magnum, Gemini). I would end the day by getting rerides on Steel Vengeance and maybe Maverick if you have the time. Again, I think Saturday is going to be a bad day for crowds, and I'm not sure if you're going to be able to do all of that in a single day, especially since you aren't going to be using Fast Lane. For Sunday, I would prioritize riding whatever you didn't get to ride Saturday. Also, I would hit up TT2 and Millie first on the second day as those rides have been notorious this season for maintenance issues, so it's best to rides those early before they go down. CoasterJack
Between two days you should be able to survive. But I agree with the points made above. My personal strategy is that most of the crowd flocks to the front rides, and those rides tend to have less waits later in the day. So, I would hit the back first, ride Steel Vengeance, TT2, Maverick, and Millenium Force. Now, Maverick is trick because sometimes, if not often it doesn't seem to open right at 10, they almost always seem to have issues and it opens like 10:15. So maybe start with something that looks open, such as SV or MF, or even TT2, and then hit Maverick soon after with a 45-minute wait vs a 90-minute wait later in the day.
