fryler87
Beautiful day. It was the busiest I've ever seen the park. In six hours, we did four rides. We did a lot of walking around, but none the less; four rides. Son of Beast was the smoothest I've ever experienced it. Wonderful. Food prices suck; but there's almost no use complaining. My lunch of chicken fingers, curly fries and a drink was over 10 bucks at It's Fried. And three dollars for a 20 oz. bottle of fliud in the vending machines...THREE DOLLARS. IJST looked great; almost rolled back once. Talk about major G-forces. Walked past Craig Ross, Siebert and some others in Nick Central. Thought that was kinda funny. Bad day to go for the rides, but it's good to get the jitters out of my system to have at least gone to the park this season.
Captain Nemo
I was going to go yesterday but my friend's plans changed so we ended up not going. We were thinking of going today but I guess it was good that we planned to just go next week.
ZosoBeast
I did SOB yesterday as well! I thought it was a little smoother than last year, but not much. I always try to sit in the same seat, 21, as it seems to give me the smoothest ride.
CoastersRZ
Yeah, it was busy. I got up there today for the ACE Walkback. Jeff said IJST is getting closer to opening for thos technical rehearsals. He said that they have begun to test the fishtail effect and the actuators which will make the cars shake. Jeff had said that he would be helping serve up food at Bubba Gump`s later in the day. I left the park at 12, having gotten 6 rides in (2 Beast and 2 Flight of Fear). When I left, the parking lot was almost full, and the back up to get into the lot stretched a mile down 71. As Jeff said at the walk back, the park will make a TON of money today. I still have yet to ride Son of Beast. I didn`t even go into the Action Zone today, because I knew it would be a zoo, just like the rest of the park was getting to be when I left. PKI_Diana
A company has purchased tickets to the park today. So they came in mass numbers!
CoastersRZ
What company bought those tickets? There were enough people there, that they could have bought the park out! (Although some of the people in the park were gp and pass holders. However, when I left at 12, the Gold Pass lot was only about half full.) As Jeff Siebert mentioned on the morning walk back, they probably made lots of money from concessions and games today!

beast37
Well I was reading some of your posts. Yes the Son of Beast was very smooth i just got off the sob not too long ago because some of the employes that work Son of Beast wanted to get a chance to ride. The last person has to walk out of the park before the employes get to ride. it was a busy day. most of the day i was at the water park because they were starting to fill up the wave pool and some of the slides. Hope everyboby had a great day.

CoastersRZ
PKI_Diana, I would have said hi, but a guest came up to you to ask you for directions to somewhere in the park. I`m sure I will see you in the park again on another, less crowded day!

CoastersRZ
But if the park closed at 8, based on the number of people that were there, I`m sure the Son of Beast had quite a little line at closing time tonight! Not to mention how long it would take all those guests to file out of the park!
coasterville
I just got back from the park, they announced EXTRA HOURS tonight. The rides stayed open until 9 tonight. I heard the Extra Hour announcement on the PA around 7PM. Italian Job is testing, and seems to be running faster than last weeks test. I was there pretty much all day and only rode 4 things. I played more midway games today than I do in some entire seasons. If it weren;t my companies outing day and all, I would have turned around when the line to enter the parking lot was stretched WAAAAYY back on I-71. Magic41445
As I approached the park from the south, I had to do a double take and check that this wasn't the fourth of July! In talking with another fellow frequent visitor, she believes that we had over 70,000 in attendance today...unbelievable. But since I did not get a chance to go on Saturday i felt the need to get at least one ride in before the week begins. Surprisingly, after arriving at the park at about 5:30, I was able to fit in 6 rides..2 rides on the recar, Vortex, SOB, Delirium, and finally had ten min to spare to walk back for a final night ride on Beast. So on busy days, my rule of thumb is to always avoid wasting time on the popular and/or low capacity rides...the time you spend in line for Flight of Fear you could probably easily have two rides on The Vortex. And then save the best, like The Beast, for last so that you have a half hour wait at the most instead of an hour wait.
AZ Kinda Guy
We weren't anywhere near 70,000 people today.
PKI_Diana
but memorial day!! why not go to a local indoor pool!? They train water sentry at a pool. So I don't see why they don't train the lifeguards at the same pool, at least for now. Then do the fine things out at CDBB in may.
