June 2, 200521 yr Does anybody else think that they did a better job with PGA's BB, it is thmed and landscaped better. I know ours already exsited but they still could have done a better job they could have added themeing to the older attractions. Also how much do you think it cost total to build PGA's Boomerang Bay, since they had to buy everything new. Look at the pics before answering. http://www.norcalcoasters.net/news.php?id=0601054 -Jake
June 2, 200521 yr ^I think PGA already had a water park before they got the boomerang bay expansion. If I remember correctly their slogan for this year was "Twice the size in 2005" meaning twice the size of the waterpark in 2005. Theirs does look a lot nicer though.
June 2, 200521 yr PGA did already have a waterpark that was new in '04. This waterpark though, was the newly built Boomerang Bay that replaced Stealth (Vekoma Flying Dutchman). So this means that PGA's waterpark was originally a Boomerang Bay and therefore could possibly look more fully themed.
June 2, 200521 yr That sucks having to surrender a coaster, especially the first of its kinds. PGA doesnt seem like it has that many good coasters.
June 2, 200521 yr Well it was PGA's only real shot at having any niche in the theme park market in Cali. You have Disney, 2 Six flags, Knotts, ect. all sitting around the park, and a park the size of PGA cannot compete unless it had a stellar water park.
June 2, 200521 yr ^True. Hopefully that park gets built up quite a bit in the future it doesnt seem like its a very good park. Although it probably beats Six Flags.
June 2, 200521 yr That one looks better. I think pkd will be getting one just like that. But I don't think its happening next year because pkd is in need of a coaster after 5 years without one.

I also think that your reasoning that PKI's CDBB was a "remodel" of Water Works probably explains it. (Creative design is a lot easier when you're starting with a blank sheet...) Of course, don't get me started about all the "lush tropical landscaping" that the marketing campaign for PKI's CDBB promised By the time I was done reading all the hype, I expected Typhoon Lagoon-quality themeing. Needless to say--that wasn't the case. That's one example where the marketing definitely promised a lot more than what was actually delivered. It's too bad too, because as it is, CDBB was a really nice addition--it didn't need (and in my opinion--suffered from) the hyperbole. I'm anxious to see pics from SFGA's new waterpark...if they came close to the same quality of themeing at SFGAD's new "Lost Kingdom" (Kingda Ka's area), then that should be something to see! Joel
June 3, 200521 yr Jzarley you took the words right out of my mouth , What happen to the boardwalks and not being able to see the otherside of the park because of the lush tropical plants, jeff seibert said in the pre opening tour the fall before BB opened, someone yell fumble cause someone drop the ball.
June 3, 200521 yr Which was better PKI's waterpark or the new one Boomerang Bay. I havent been to either of them but i want to go sooo bad.
June 3, 200521 yr i just now remebere that. PGA pro golf association and i play golf. That is a shame.
June 3, 200521 yr I don't look at it as which one is better or funner. I just look at it in the way that we have one. Weather it is a bigger or better looking water park, ours is still fun!
June 6, 200521 yr Nice perpetual right turn on post picture, Get a drunk on here watching that for five minutes and they'll be puking lizards.
