What about Preserving the Racer?

Featured Replies

What about getting The Racer deemed as a Historic Ride? Also Preserving its cousin at Paramounts Kings Dominion, the Rebel Yell. Would anyone like to see The Racer preserved back to its original condition with the Red White and Blue tracks like during the 70s and 1980s?

I want Paramount with there upcoming movie to make them The Racers and the rebel yell

Call them Both Rebel Yell dukes vs the police of hazzard county

make the backwards the rebel the 01 dukes: and the other the police department

and make sure they race but you know who would win everytime!

That would be nice if they did that.

Although I do agree that The Racer, like any other 30+ year old wooden coaster could use as much TLC as it can get, I really like the classic white look to it. I realy think that red and blue tarnish it.

We could do like Cedar Point and enclose them in a building, add some projection screens and theming, and call them disaster racers!!! That was sarcasm, but The Racers do need some TLC.

Look at Cedar Point's Mine Ride... It's in horrible condition.

I like the way CCMR looks at Cedar Point. It adds excitement to the ride.

Also, did you realise that CCMR is sitting on a lagoon? That's mostly why it's in bad shape.

It doesn't add excitement to the ride when there's wood rotting right under you... and yes I have realized it that it sits over a lagoon.

I too hate to see The Racers deteriorate. One would think that they would keep one of the most popular rides in the park in tip top shape. I hope that it gets some rehab work done in the near future....and no, it should never be themed. It's a classic style wooden coaster with some significance, and that is how it should stay. No offense whatsoever to whoever had the idea, but I think that theming it to a horrible movie like Dukes of Hazzard would be blasphemous.

I hope this rumor of a major coaster being removed is not true. But think of it, if The Racer is removed think of what could be in it's place. Perfect for a rocket coaster. With that strip of land it could happen but that will I hope not happen, Racer ROCKS!
