First, I don't like the new 2005 park maps. The attraction index is alphabetical, which is fine, except when you look at a number on the map, you'll spend a long time looking for the attraction below if you don't know the name of said ride. Yes, I know for myself and others, this is not a problem. But, what about the people that have never been there? I was also noticing under Park Guidelines & Information, concerning the Park Attraction Rating System, all of the rides have some wording and I was wondering if this was new. Ever ride states that this ride may require some rider body control and is not intended for unaccompanied toddlers or very young children. Has that always been worded that way? The reason I ask is it seems they might have added body control with what happened at SFNE and the Superman:Ride of Steel coaster. Or, has it always been there and it just so happens that it applies to the afformentioned accident?

Are you ever happy with anything?

I like how the old map sorted attractions by area. I didn't like the "feel" of the old map, though. The rectangular shape was just kind of, odd...strange as it sounds. The new map looks good (I like that major attractions get a little colored box with info on the ride) but I do not like title the park areas and I do not like the attraction locater, no matter how "Disney-esque" it may be. The new map, in my opinion, is much less user-friendly for new park guests.

Then again, it is just a map...so it's not too much of a big deal, but still, as an avid theme park map collector, these things stick in my mind.

I agree. I think they should have AT LEAST put in the park section titles. IMO, the 2004 map was much easier to read and comprehend. I don't like how 'big' it seems when you open it completely....IDK if you guys feel that way or not but it feels bulky when you try to look at it. It also annoys the crap out of me that they have the wrong Top Gun logo on the map. They should have just used the movie logo that just says "Top Gun" instead of using the inverted version. Also, it took me a LONG time to realize what the siver thing is in The Vortex logo (robotic arm) b/c I've never seen it before.

The logo on the park map, is in fact the one that PKI uses, and is also on the PKI website here.

Yes, most of us that have visited PKI do not need a park map. But there are always those tourists, that come from out of town that give PKI their money too. Then their are the once a year visitors from Cincinnati and neighboring cities. They only visit once a year, and often don`t know the park as well as most of us do. Additionally, they may not be aware of some of the changes the park has made since their last visit and the map is a way for them to become aware of these changes. One such change would be the smoking in designated areas only, although most guests still fail to recognise this new rule. PKI needs banners llike what Holiday World has. I`m sure more guests would willingly follow this rule if they knew it existed!

the online map sucks!!!! seriously!!!! they don't even list most food locations. they only list the big ones where you can go in and sit and eat, which seriously, is like, what? 4 or 5? (i'm thinkin festhaus, the place on IS, Bubba Gump's, and Wings)

so yeah. the online map sucks and if i were an impending guest I wouldn't be impressed at all with the online map. they should list the real map online.
