jzarley
Paramount Parks is the fastest growing themeparks of now. That's the second time I've seen that statement in this thread. What metric of "fastest growing" are you referring? Number of parks/attractions, attendance, revenue?

PKD4LIFE
Yes... what I mean is attendence. PKI is the number one seasonal park in the world. And yes I've been on Tomb Raider: Firefall and its an awsome ride... I will get to try Tomb Raider: The Ride sometime in late summer. Delirium_Guy
I'm sorry, but SF doesn't compare to PKI. I went to SFMM last year, and I hated it, including the theming. SFMM is a horribly bad example. Take a trip to SFoT or Fiesta Texas. Both absolutely gorgeous parks with great theming. My take on things? PKI may have recently started to put more detail in theming the RIDES, but what about the areas that the rides are located in? Have any of you looked around at our themed areas? Guess I should say a lack thereof. I'm sorry, but PKI has some of the worse looking areas in most of the parks I've been to. That was never the case. Lets look at Action Zone. A ton of billboards with movie advertisements and a lot of concrete....oh yeah and those lovely new cars that now sit in front of Congo Falls. Whoah. Thats phenominal theming. Likewise, the same can be said for Rivertown....and the oh so ran down Coney Mall and the ever disappearing Oktoberfest. I wish for just one season, they would take a break from the darn rides and PLEASE bring some life back into the Park. Spruce up the areas that need it (i.e the ****ty looking cracked asphalt in Coney). PKI used to be one of the most beautiful parks in the country. In some ways, it still holds some of that charm, but in a lot of others its fallen. - Todd
PKD4LIFE
Busch Gardens Williamsburg is the most beutiful park in the world. Pkd does keep up in making sure the area looks right like all of the congo's looks right except for Flight of Fear. In the grove they make rides and resteraunts looks bright with "groovey" colors. In old Virginia they put the log flume and water rides there to make it look like a more older place in the park. International Street is so so. Nickelodeon Central is good and so is Kidzville. Pkd has some littile nice touch to the park.

I mean, what's left of "oktoberfest"? all that's there is what? some lockers, the viking ship, and an entrance to FestHaus. that's it. I do agree with the in general themeing. it's not really the rides that need work, it's the qeue (sp?) lines, and the surrounding areas. and then there's that little park that no one knows about.... I say take what's in the park, add it around PKI, and get rid of the park and put in a new ride. Honestly no one ever goes to that little park... lol. but I do agree that the themeing is pathetic... and i've never been to another amusement park in a long time (last one i went to was Kentucky Kingdom BEFORE SF bought it and i was too little to remember it) also, let's not forget the crappy decision to REMOVE The Beast prints. That was like the "stamp" of the park... what made it unique. People followed the prints, wondering where they went, and discovered The Beast. I always get asked how to get to The Beast. and how to get to the waterpark. They need to have boomerangs that lead to the train station and the walkway to get to the waterpark. They need to re-add The Beast prints. They need to do a LOT of work with the overall themeing of the park.
moore
^Yea, I miss The Beast prints too. I think it was a stupid move to remove them!

Skippy
Now here's where I feel obligated to but in You guys are 100% right on the area themes at PKI, they suck! PKI need to just take a whole off-season and a large budget to theme, possibly re-theme, the whole park. Octoberfest needs to go They can just include the Festhaus as part of International Street and they should move Adventure Express to Rivertown as it seems misplaced where it currently sites! PKI should figure out whether Rivertown should remain as an old-fashioned southern village or if it should take more of a SKGA's Golden Kingdom approach so that Tomb Raider fits in more with the theme. Also, all the asphalt it Rivertown should be replaced with the rock pavement that is infront of Tomb Raider. PKI needs to either redevelope the old western theming on their train ride or they need to get rid of it and replace it with somthing new (maybe a backlot theme)! Boomerang Bay could also use more theming as it doesn't even compare to any Six Flags' Hurricane Harbors or even Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom (a Cedar Fair park ). If their going with a movie studio theme then maybe they'll want to add fake backdrops/skylines, cameras, lights, and other movie studio props throughout the park to give more of "movie set" feel to it. As much as I love PKI how it is, they really need to pull their themes together to make the park flow alot better, maybe add more contrast so you can actually tell when you've entered a new area. In the end, I'm satisfied with PKI and how it's currently progressing!
KIBeast
I agree except about the train. It's really just to get people from the park to the water park and back. It serves its' purpose.
PKIVortex
I would just like to say, I went to Six Flags Great America this past Monday (June 27th). I thought the park was very clean, and the employees seemed pretty nice. Yes its not a PKI, but every park either be Paramount or Six Flags has it's own thing that makes it what it is. I don't agree with alot of what Six Flags does as a company but I also don't agree alot of what Paramount does.
UncleHenry
The Beast paw prints were not "removed". They were just paved over, and not re-painted. It seems like they only have the paw-prints for the every 5th anniversary of it anyway. I remember them going in for the 20th, then dissappearing, then they came back for the 25th, and now they are gone again. Let's remember, they don't focus on Beast every year.
