Well if you didn't know - there are rumors that PKD will be getting an IJST for 2006. Also this was found on the Official Carowinds Website. Carowinds Site Check it out. So is it possible there will be FOUR IJST roller coasters out there? Why does Paramount think its so good that they need to clone it four times??? It really isn't that good. The only coasters there that are possibly less thrilling than IJST are Top Cat's Taxi Jam, Beastie, Scooby's Ghoster Coaster.

^ laugh.gif Which considering how they bought two - they would get two free!

Although it isn't very thrilling - it is cheap. I think IJST coast 3 Mil total for theming and the coaster. So for that kind of an experience it is well worth it. They can buy four of them for less than half the price of Son of Beast! laugh.gif

Umm, IJST cost $15 mill to build...A Zamperla Volare is like $5 mill... If it where $3 mill, lottery winners could buy that coaster easily laugh.gif

Uh about the Carowinds site...That's for PCW. Each Paramount Park site has pages for ALL Paramount sites. The media contacts are PCWs spokes people.

Yikes! It looks like Paramount Parks is putting "hidden pages" in elsewhere, too, for future updates. Kind of like, using the other park's page for a template?

Check it out, here's the confirmation we've all known was coming:

You do realize that it is pretty easy to go to any Paramount Park site, so as to get the park's logo at the top, and get a press release from another park.

Don't lie. Lying kills millions each year.

You're actually absolutely right. Have you ever noticed that the first thing Jeff says at any of the press conference is that all of the information is available of PKI.com? When they update the site, more than likely, the new pages are there already, they just rename them to make your browser to default to that page. With that, you can uncover a lot of secrets by exploring around PKI.com. If you noticed this is a NC expansion that is clearly about Carowinds, yet is on PKI's root directory. Obviously they can't just change names, but they can whipe all of the info and stull use the template.

Cool find!

Sorry, I was actually being sarcastic in that last post.

While PKI does do what you describe (found gold-pass perk flash animation earlier this year, before it was made public), with the Carowinds template and all.

What I was leaning towards regarding the press release was, all the press releases are stored on the same database. You can be on any PP site, open a press release, and change the press release ID number to something else, and up comes another press release, possibly from a different park, but while looking like it is in the site of the park you are looking at.

Ackbar simply opened up the PKI IJ:ST press release, copied the item_id=38 section, and substitued that for the item_id of one of the Carowinds press releases.

Try this:

Here's the original site for a Carowinds press release - http://www.carowinds.com/News/detail.cfm?item_id=194

Here's the original site for a PKI release: - http://www.pki.com/news/detail.cfm?item_id=136

See the numbers 194 and 136? Swap them around and visit the sites...like so

http://www.carowinds.com/News/detail.cfm?item_id=136

http://www.pki.com/news/detail.cfm?item_id=194

Ah I see what you are talking about. I see how they probably programmed their site as well. Thanks for clearing that up. So you can't really depend on those to tell you what is happening - because all the Paramount Parks point to the same database - and the sites just include content from various sections of that database. So you can include content from 136 as reclaimer used at any Paramount park site and it will display the same content with that parks wrapper.

Oh well it was interesting to think about! biggrin.gif

While IJST may not be thrilling to all you picky ACER's and mad coaster enthusiasts out there who wanted someting like dragster put in, it is thrilling to the general public. The public is loving the ride. Kids of all ages are loving the ride and its been a big success for paramount parks.

So, where's the fourth IJ:ST coaster going to? I only heard the one that is being installed at PKD. That only makes three. Is PGA or PC getting one? I think mainly the reason that coasters are cloned is people from Canada, Virginia, California, or North Carolina generally aren't going to come to PKI. Some of the general public may not even know there already is an ItalIan Job coaster at another park. Or, perhaps they do, but don't want to travel eight or more hours to ride it.

Not only do lots of them not know about other Italian Job coasters, many don't even know other Paramount Parks exist. Earlier this year when I went to PKI with 7 friends, all of whom would be considered general public, we started talking about rides. Several of my friends mentioned how cool they thought FOF was and how it was like Rock n' Rollercoaster. I replied yes it is and then also mentioned how there was another FOF in at PKD. All of them gave me a confused look and I explained how there were five Paramount parks. It just goes to show that the general public typically knows very little, if any at all about other parks outside of a 200-300 mile range from their homes, besides maybe Disney and IOA.

All of my classmates and friends learned the abbreviation PCW from my nickname. They don't know much after that laugh.gif
