Anybody here looking forward to Fear Fest this year?

The park is going back to the way it was 3 years ago with Friday and Saturday nights. No more Sunday nights closing at 9pm.

I have the low down on all the latest Fear Fest info if anyone is interested.

I can't wait for Fear Fest! Halloween is probably my favorite time of the year. I love the ghost stories and fall colors and everything about October! I say bring it on!!!

I'm looking forward to it also, it's less crowded and cooler.

The views from The Beast kick butt when all the trees are changing.

It's just a nice way to wind down the year.

For all you FearFest fans you have no reason to worry PKI is going all out for fear fest this year the only thing is sundays belong to the kids with Nick or Treat so do saturdays during the daytime.But at night FearFest belongs to the ghouls,ghosts, and freaks... this year is gonna be scary fun !

I heard some mention of a Haunted Train ride. That could be cool. I really liked Route 666, except for the line from hell.

Route 666 was tiques and sadly, that is gone.

I hope they bring back the original theme of, The Eiffel Tower gets struck by lightning, the whole park goes black and out come the ghouls from the depths to roam and prey on the innocent victoms of the park.

That would be so cool!

Does anyone know how to put an image into a post because i have a picture of the original pamphlet from the first year of fearfest on my comp and i want to post it.

I loved the first year of FearFest. Thats where my wife and I went on our first date. I know, how romantic.

I hope they have more characters roaming around this year, like the Slidders and the Night Stalkers.

They will have the creepers (Sliders) and a scarezone in which characters run free.

One could only imagine what kinda of "creepers" or "sliders" the Sleepy Hollow Scarezone will have! I can't wait! -Hauntguy

I heard that Sleepy Hollow may be taking over the train. So I'm guessing Rivertown is the Headless Horseman's new home.

Also, I've also seen construction on the new maze in the white tent by IJ. It looks like some sort of a house design, and it looks beautiful. Does anyone have an idea as to what this new maze is supposed to be?

Yes Sleepy Hollow Horror (the one they are constructing by IJST and International Showplace) debuted last season. It is was essentially replaced Route 666. The idea of the train being a haunted attraction for the nightly portion of FearFest would be good especially since it has a fairly high capacity. However, last season they used it during the daily portion of FearFest as the Pumpkin Patch Express. So they may ot be using it for the nightly portion of FearFest. (They also only ran three cars on the train, but had both trains running at the same time.) It would be cool to have the train take you back to a haunt maze back by Boomerang Bay or in the woods, or picnic grove.

It'd be neat to see Boomerang Bay used as a themed area in Fearfest (or even Winterfest)

It'd be neat to see all the slides and such closed down, but there still be activity around.

The Train ride will be titled "Headless Hollow"

I am soooo ready for Fear Fest this year. I didn't go last year, but saw some of the set-up and theming in Coney Maul. What was the best haunted attraction last year?

The Psycho Path is always nice, if you don't have to wait 3 hours to walk through.

Sleepy Hollow was really neat, but not really scary.

I enjoyed House of Darkness last year because of the craw tunnels and the pith dark corridor section where you could see nothing. Not to mention the actor that helped you through that section was very good. It is a very classic haunt.

House of Darkness didn't have a crawl through section. Curse of The Crypt was the one with the crawl through section, and total darkness throughout the entire attraction.

Thats right. Got the two confused.

Paramount owns the rights to "Friday the 13th" and I know that last year they did a movie thing on it. But wouldn't it be cool, especially in one of the wooded areas, to set up camp Crystal Lake and do a haunted "Friday the 13th" attraction, complete with a Jason that attacks you? Also, you could discover "bodies" and they'd have special effects to capture the gore. Could be really cool and freaky. Or, instead of a structured line, just have people be able to wander through the attraction and discover the bodies. . . and have people dressed like Jason wandering through and attacking them at will! You'd never know when someone was going to sneak up on you!

There is a production company already working on haunts (for purchase by theme parks) that are themed after and feature characters: Freddy Krugar(spelling?), Jason Vorhees, and Leatherface!! Maybe PKI could get ahold of one of these "to-be" awesome attractions? -Hauntguy

I've always thought the Psycho Path should be geared more towards a Friday the 13th theme. People just wandering through the woods is just asking for trouble. You should see all the problems that arise trying to keep people on the lighted trail at the Psycho Path. Props go missing, people wandering off to use a tree, people hiding in the woods to scare the group behind them. Give people free reign to wander the woods and you are just asking for trouble.

Does anyone no where the haunted houses will be located??

I would say same places as always with possible use of the Paramount Theater again. Possible chance that WWC que or channel could be used like at CP. This is my best guess
