RailRider
I remember WinterFest and yes skating on the fountain under the tower is amazing. I loved WinterFest. I love the fall and winter and thank goodness this year I get both FearFest and WinterFest to help celebrate these seassons.
CoastersRZ
I haven`t heard any news. I have heard that the advance tickets are selling quite well, so if you want to attend, you better buy tickets in advance before they sell out all the nights! They are only going to admit a certain amount of guests/tickets per night, so that the crowds aren`t overwhelming.

I don't think that there is going to be any great danger of being shut out on any specific night. There have been times in the past that the Winterfest had been near capacity, but the park is able to equalize the numbers pretty quickly by opening and closing locations and attractions. I for one am extremely excited to see Winterfest. I'll be able to report on the differences between Kings Island Winterfest and Carowinds Winterfest. WooferBearATL
WOW! The park is going to be open on November 5 & 6? Lord - Someone's gonna be bustin their butts to get the park ready for Winterfest. We used to start set for this the weekend after the park closed and that was in October. I'm not sure that the planners know just how much work is really involved with changing things over and just the darn decorating. (Let alone the people that work on the fountain conversion.) LOL - Good Luck and I Hope Paramount Knows what it's doing.
Scooby_Doo
Since I CANT go to fearfest at all this year due to me having a budget now..Iam saving my money for winterfest because I rather go to winterfest than to fearfest because I loved winterfest as a kid...and I do fearfest everyyear and I want to take a break from it...besides I hate being scared outta my wits. CoastersRZ
Well the fountain conversion is already underway. It was already drained of water this past weekend, and Jeff said crews were beginning to transform it into a winter wonderland ice skating rink! Jasper
I have never ice skated so it will be quite a treat to get to learn how to in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower with family at PKI.

I figured it had to happen soon because the conversion is quite a task. It has to be drained. The pipes have to be winterized. The dirt and sand has to be put down. The plywood and the pipes have to be laid. The buildings have to be put together. It's all a major project.
lostgirl
yeah but it is amazing what all they can get done without anyone even knowing it. I work there and they build alot of fearfest stuff behind the scenes then move it where it needs to be. I bet a lot of those buildings are already being built or are already built and just need to be moved. Kings Island is usually ready for just about anything so i'm sure they are completely ready for something that was planned for. Although it may differ from years in the past who knows...change may just be a good thing!
