April 25, 200422 yr I haven't seen the show yet or even the new theater like I said in anoyher thread. I see all these commercials on TV for the new show but I have only heard one review on it. Anybody else want to share what they thought about the new show?
April 26, 200422 yr I went to see it and I definitely think it was worth my twenty minutes. I thought it was very interesting but I wish it was a little longer. I'd like to know how to get to be the ones on stage. Anyone got any ideas as to how to be the lucky people to get on stage.
April 27, 200422 yr The show is in the renovated Paramount Theater. Is is basically a cheesy show about "making movies." Oh, and the middle part of the show is a trailer for the upcoming Spongebob Movie. I personally though the show was a complete waste of my time. To each his own.

They took people from the front right when I was there so that would be the place to look.

Ok, I got to be in the show and this is how you do it: be one of the first people there and look for the guy wearing all black with the clipboard. He's the same guy that, in the show, brings the crowd members up on stage. Tell him that you want to be in the show. If you ask him, he'll generally just let you do it, but he may ask you a few questions to make sure that you're charismatic, outgoing, and not really shy... not exactly a big formal acting audition, but I'm sure they don't want people to bail out right before the show starts. Anyway, they will sit you in the reserved seats and bring you up on stage as necessary. After you preform (assuming you're in the first part), they take you back stage and you get out of the costumes. Then they escort you to the seats on the opposite side of the theatre (if you're standing on the stage, they're on the right). I think for the first segment, they have four people who make sound effects, and for the second section, they use a couple (I know they were actively looking for a man and a women that were there together when I went). Anyway, I hope this helps. Ryan
April 27, 200422 yr I didn't really like it that much. The jokes were cheesy. The only part I liked was the green screen that was cool. I think it was just really kiddish if you ask me.
May 17, 200422 yr Ryan (Boddah) and I got to be in the show. Hence, it was great for the ladies in the audience that got to see us - the world's former most elligeble bachelor and his successor. Seriously speaking, the show was mediocre. If you're in it, it's cool. If you only watch it....it doesn't compare to Graveyard Shift. G'Day mate! Italian Chef :chef:
June 21, 200422 yr We have the Magic Of The Movies Live show at Wonderland up here in Canada as well. Me and my boyfriend went into the show for the first time at Wonderland and ended up playing Jack and Rose for the small Titanic part so we decided while we were at PKI to go see the whole show without participating and were somewhat surprised to hear the exact same jokes/script etc. with very little to no differentiation between the two shows at the two parks. I wasn't aware that the shows were so regimented/ scripted. I agree that the show has a somewhat lower entertainment value than some of the shows of the past (graveyard shift was one that was mentioned) but I really enjoyed participating in it the first time- it was fun.
June 23, 200422 yr i honestly think it sounds cool, and that's great that ryan and chef were in it lol!
July 27, 200422 yr I currently work at PKI and PT. Yes I admit that the show may be corny at times, but it has its moments. The show is scripted a lot but there is some improv. I think that the best thing about seeing the show is that you can sit back in a comphy chair soak in some AC and just relax for 27 min. Although I have seen the show over 100 times everyday and sometimes every show there is something new that I get to laugh about. And regarding about wanting to be picked for the show never go up to the person and ask because then they will NOT pick you. All you have to do is sit back relax and look like you are ready for the show and havin a blast. Everything will then fall into place. Just make sure that you are there 15 min before the show.

Chef and I asked to be in.
July 28, 200422 yr That may be so, but I personally know the cast and trust me if you were to go up to them today or tomorrow they will not put you in the show if you ask. I have seen people come up and ask and they will not be picked. They did do that in the beginning of the season though so I will give you that but no more. Just take my advice if you want to be in the show sit in your seat look happy and exciting and they will normally ask you to be in the show
August 1, 200422 yr I have seen the show a few times through out the season. I think that the show is great for what the show is. It goes along well with the theme of the park and I think it has some good laughs. Yes they are cheesy laughs at times but I believe that in a show like this, those are the only laughs that work. This kind of show is very hard to pull off....i know because i have done a lot of theatre myself. I think the cast does a great job with the show. The Host Brian and the sidekick Kevin work well together. I remember seeing them in shows the past few years. My family has seen shows there for a long time. I do miss the big stage shows and think it was a sad thing to take away the Nick show. But the Talent in the park is great! The Tuned in show has some great singers so check that one out too. If ya want to get picked for the show just wave to the girl walkin around and talk with her...it seems like they like that since thats how my daughter got picked for sleepy hollow...
August 5, 200422 yr I really hope we get a new show...what was that one graveyard something...that was good one bring it back!!! whoa this board has too many smurf fans
August 11, 200422 yr I'm not sure how the GP has reacted to Magic of the Movies Live, but I think the park has learned from its downsides and will put out a much better show next year. Just think, they dad a million dollar renovation this year, so they'll be able to do amazing things in the future.
August 11, 200422 yr Is it the same program like PCWs? -trivia -sleepy hollow effects -titanic -titanic 2 -then a bunch of previews
August 12, 200422 yr yes it is the same show at every paramount park. There are minor script changes to go along with the area. I know this because i visited PKD in july and saw it there. I could tell the differences in the shows, but the basic outline is the same
