RailRider
I agree it is going to get hard for PKI to keep theming rides to movies when your movies arent that great or popular. Doesnt make sense to theme rides after movies people havent seen or dont know about.
Gordon Bombay
^Not all their movies are terrible.....just the ones you can theme movies too. Garden State and We Were Soldiers are two of my favorite movies.....and did great at the box office.....yet you cant make them into rides. Although.....a AE re-theme to WWS would be quite cool although depressing.
RailRider
^ I was talking about movies you could theme a ride to. Just not much good in the way of action.
Gordon Bombay
^Yeah I know, and I was agreeing with you that a majority of themeable movies suck the big one.

King Bowser
Addams Family rights to make an amusement ride have not been secured. Wanna make a bet?! ...You are correct however Amblin Entertainment holds the rights to War of The Worlds and Amblin often gives the rights to Universal before any other movie studio. Sadly I dont foresee any attractions being themed to The Core or SkyCaptain. But yeah I dont think Avatar is gonna be a Disk-O sad but true. StXsteven
What is Avatar? This whole time I thought Avatar was a type of ride I've never heard of haha... What would be better than a war of the worlds ride, is a retheme of Outer limits to war of the worlds. It obviously won't happen, but I would like the ride much more if they did that. Don't forget, theres Action Zone... then theres everywhere else in the park. The movies don't have to be action.
RailRider
Yes but we also have TR:TR and IJ:ST. Just saying that if current trends hold true and PKI wants to theme new attractions to movies, shows, or brands then the next big thrill ride will probably need a good action movie theme. Unless they go generic like Delerium. Just hard to do because of the craptacular boxoffice action movies PKI has had lately.

Not that Im calling you a liar, cause I know you know a good deal of info, but, there arent any articles and all I was referring to was that how some people think that just becuase there was a concept for an AF restauraunt in a recent survey that, that means theres going to be an AF coaster next year. Skippy
Actually, both you and StXsteven are wrong! Stephen Speildberg is the one with the rights, as to what will happen with the rights is still up in the air. Paramount never sold the rights to UNiversal, it has not been confirmed which park franchise will recieve the rights to make an amusement ride. Paramount distributed and produced Indiana Jones yet......Speildberg gave the rights to Disney.......more dollar signs in that direction for him. But dont fret, according to Jeff Seibert there could still be hope for a WOTW ride at a paramount park(s). WHen asked about the possibility Jeff spoke about how both park chains were supposed to get the tour that StXsteven is talking about, yet PKI did not get to have the tour of how the movie was made (which debuted months before the movie was in theatres) because PKI was not yet open for the season. Wow, not only are you also wrong but you spelt Speilberg's name wrong I'm not trying to start trouble I would just like to state that Lucas gave the rights of Indiana Jones to Disney Lucas Film holds all the rights to Indiana Jones, as they produced the movie and Lucas came up with the idea in the first place, while Speilberg was only given the privilege of directing Lucas's movie (Amblim Entertainment playing a minor role)! Lucas prefers Disney, not because of the money he receives, but because he believes that they are the only people capable of doing his movies justice. Speilberg, on the other hand, prefers Universal and would've given the rights of Indiana Jones to them, not Disney. Both friends are convinced that they are with the best in the amusement industry and have even tried to persuade the other to join their side Not only have they given their movie rights to the parks but they have even collaborated with the parks on some exclusive attractions [ExtraTERRORestrial ALIEN ENCOUNTER at Magic Kingdom came from George Lucas while Stephen Speilberg collaborated on The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man (directed the 3D movie scenes) and Islands of Adventure in it's entirety]! You are correct on War of the Worlds and where the rights to that stand though! Personally I'd love to see it in the parks, but not as a Flight of Fear retheme (it's fine as it is now, but in-car speakers and a pitch-black ride wouldn't hurt). Hopefully Speilberg has a change of heart and gives Paramount the rights for once, as this is one of the VERY few good Paramount movies to come out as of late! RailRider
We will see a War of The Worlds ride at Universal before PKI or any Paramount park even gets a snif of that franchise. Sucks, but Stevey isnt going to turn his back on Universal, especially since he helped create most of IOA. P.S. Screamscape has confirmed Avatar will be a DiskO with inward facing seats on a skateboard. I guess I need to watch this cartoon to figure out the theme.
