Minor Update: More Winterfest Pictures/Park news

Just got back from opening day for Winterfest with CoastersRZ. Some Winterfest notes:

The Mayor of Winterfest leads the parade each night in an antique car!

The stars on the top of the tower turn on and off during the parade.

The tower itself turns into a rainbow of colors during the parade.

A radio station actually sets up shop each night in a section of IS called "Winterfest Radio"

Other park news:

Slime maze is almost gone. About half of it still stands

Ghoaster Coaster as well as the kiddie rides behind it are all gone. The mini train ride is still there.

The theming to Flinstone's Boulder Bumpers is gone.

We'll worry about the lodge when there's something to report on it. A concrete foundation isn't really what we here at PKIC consider ground breaking news.

I just uploaded a few pictures I took tonight, including one with the Mayor driving one of the old Antique Cars in the parade.

As for the lodge, I actually spotted framing rising above the trees in the parking lot tonight, over by Top Gun. But at this point, it is nothing spectacular looking.

Lovely taime I had last night. Saw ZosoBeast and CoastersRZ there, for the Santa's Toy Factory show, train ride, and the 9:00 Scrooge show. By tomorrow I hope to have my own photo update up... I did enjoy the turkey meal available at the Winter Festhaus, as well as the Jack Frost magic show.

I warned that the Sponge Bob attraction was not simply a retheme of the Green Slime Zone (water maze), but something much larger that would change the look of Nickelodeon Central permenatly! The old Nickelodeon Splat City look is now gone forever and I sure hope people took my advice and snapped some pictures of it and didn't just ignore it while they were out getting some of Hanna-Barbera Land.

These pictures are breaking my heart but the thought of something better coming helps

I'm glad to see the anitque cars again BTW, is Scrooge anything like Statler and Waldorf from the Muppets? Is he funny? Also, is Holiday Illuminations like a mini Illuminations: Reflections of Earth (Epcot)? I love that show! BTW, nice pics.

Scrooge is really funny! He might sing the same songs over and over again, but the ad-libs he does between them are pretty good!

Wow it looks so weird to see al of that stuff gone considering it has all been there since my first visit. I have to say winterfest looks awesome!

Actually, when I saw Scrooge tonight he was singing different songs. (He was still using some of the same jokes.) I again saw the 9:00 show tonight, and discovered that there has been a magician both Friday night and tonight, in front of Scrooge`s house right before the 9 o`clock show. The Scrooge show is funny! Gotta love the way he picks on people and add libs.

Thats the only thing I missed at Winterfest when I went.
