TOPGUN1993
Do you no why BB not make the volley ball court that is pictured and labled in the 2004 park map ?
Captain Picard
I don't know, sounds a little like the Top Gun Hollywood makeover in Newsletter #1. It could also be hanging out with the Tomb Raider's totally new experience.
SkootersFan
Or Beast's Hollywood effects!
Captain Nemo
I'm looking at the map, I see the tennis part you talk about, but that is in the Picnic Grove near the back.
CoastersRZ
Originally, Boomerang Bay was supposed to have sand volleyball courts. They were scrapped, most likely as a result of the maintenance required with the sand courts. Not to mention that the sand that people would be tracking into the pools would not be good for water quality or the filtrations systems. The Beast did have Hollywood effects added. They added lights in the station, and speakers playing music on each of the two lift hills. While they may not have been "Hollywood" effects, they were nice little touches to the ride. I am still trying to figure out what they meant by the Top GUn reference. I remember them mentioning it in the newsletter, but as far as I can tell, Top Gun was the same this year as it has been in the past couple of years. Legend Rider
still, Boomerang Bay is only about 2 years running, give it time people. Some have been around for 12 years and are going strong, whereas their first two years included only 2 slides, a river, a wave (which was introduced in 1994), and a kid portion... now includes... all of that, plus a triple-threat-slide, two family rafts (one enclosed, one openned), a Tornado, a family play structure, a 10 lane racing complex, a family "spray ground" a second wave pool, and even a second lazy river... 12 years is pretty good if you ask me... I could lay it out better and you would notice that the only real years you would see no additions are in 4 years, 1995, 1999, 2000, 2001... 1995-Raven; 1999-Holidog's Funtown; 2000-Legend; 2001-New Admissions Plaza yet every year from then on... something new has happened... Ok here it is: 1993-Openning, with AmaZOOM, the Bamboo Chute, Congo River, Crocodile Isle 1994-the Wave 1995- --- (Raven, voted Ride of the Year and #2 Wood Coaster) 1996-Watubee 1997-Otorong "Triple-Threat" Slide Complex 1998-Monsoon Lagoon 1999- ---(Remove FireCracker, Install Holidog's Funtown) 2000- ---(Legend, Free Unlimited Soft Drinks Promotion Introduced, the Ride of the Year, and #7 Wood Coaster, Raven Voted #1) 2001- ---(New Admissions Plaza) 2002-Zoombabwe -> up to #2 waterslide in polls (Legend intorduces 2 trains & new station voted #4 this year, Rough Riders Dogems Ride adds new Buffalo and Horse themed cars, Free Sunscreen Promotion) 2003-Zinga -> once the #1 waterslide!! (Liberty Launch replaces Wax Museum, HallowSwings replaces the Banshee Falling Star ride) 2004-Jungle Racer, Jungle Jets, Zinga Lift Conveyor (Applause Award is Given to Holiday World) 2005-Bahari -> won a few awards such as the best new waterpark attraction, and Concrete Acheivement Award. (Revolution replaces the Roundhouse in Holiday World, Raven introduces 2 train operation, new PLC, and a new transfer house) 2006-Bahari River (Voyage and Gobbler Getaway are introduced for the new Thanksgiving area, path for entry is loaced where the Virginia Reel once stood, also, the section will host games, a shop, and a restaurant, upon other needed buildings... total cost for this year $13,500,000) Who knows what is in store later in life for Splashin Safari, but it never grew by leaps and bounds... it was very gradual. Amazing stuff happens...
DA RIPPER
But don't they redo that portion of the park every 4 years. that's what the tour guide said, and if 2 years are already gone it doesn't make since to add the rest and then redo BB.
