December 23, 200520 yr Motley Fool Ouch. That is a pretty brutal article, but he does have some good points.
December 23, 200520 yr Yeah, I definitely agree (I had posted it in this thread http://www.pkicentral.com/forums/index.php...opic=6638&st=45 yesterday...) I think it hits on Viacom's biggest problem with the parks...they just don't seem to understand how to exploit the synergy between their brands. NBC did more cross-branding and promotion with the Universal assets in the month following the merger than Viacom has done with Paramount Parks in the past ten years... I have to wonder if Sumner Redstone just doesn't like being in the theme park business. That certainly seems to make more sense than the "low growth" argument. (Which, BTW, lack of industry growth potential certainly hasn't affected Cedar Fair which has paid out a quarterly distribution to their unit holders for 75 consecutive quarters, and has routinely increased the yearly dividend based on revenue growth...)
December 23, 200520 yr Man that article likes to rub salt on the open wound! It makes some very good points.
