The Interpreter
http://www.pointbuzz.com/news.htm?id=932 Although it quotes Carole Sanderson of ACE, the article itself says very little...
italianchef
It doesn't have much of a conclusion. My guess is that Cedar Fair will do away with the Paramount themes at Paramount Parks. That's what they did with the former Six Flags Worlds of Adventure. We'll see. Happy Memorial Day! Italian Chef
WooferBearATL
I volunteer to come up and pry everything that says Paramount off the parks.

Italian Chef Yeah, but the SFWOA was a different situation...Six Flags has the theme park licenses to the Time-Warner franchises, and it was no longer going to be a SF park. IF CF would have bought every SF park (as they did with Paramount), I imagine the situation could have been different. On the other hand, the Six Flags chain has essentially changed "ownership" (to varying degrees, anyway) three times since Time-Warner owned it and yet the media franchise licenses are still alive and well. Not to say that CF will want to keep any of the Paramount branding (other than Nick), since I think the value of most of it is debatable. I'm just saying the business scenario is all together different then what happened with SFWOA/GL. Of course, there's one Paramount-themed attraction that CF can't "unbrand"â€â€Star Trek:The Experience. That's one example where the brand really is the attraction...the two can't be separated. (Well, and still pull any guests, anyway...let's face it, a re-theme to "Disaster Transport: The Experience" just wouldn't cut it )

The Interpreter
Knowing how tight both Cedar Fair and CBS can be, I bet anything the contract says anything removed goes to one or the other. They'll probably sell it at auction to the highest bidder! Then again, Cedar Fair is known for being a very conservative company, and will not have a great deal of additional cash laying around for retheming. Outdoor Man
just a thought, but outside of dropping the "Paramount Parks" logos, I suspect that the theming of rides like IJST, TR:TR, ect.... may have one park per year re-theming because of the cost that may be involved in doing them all at once. In some instances there is more involved than removing a sign a putting a new one up.

In some instances there is more involved than removing a sign a putting a new one up. I suspect that you'll see signage go first. Theming will probably be secondary and happen in the off season. That is one reason why I suspect, and will much disappointment, that Winterfest will not be back this year. We actually should start a thread about the changes that are seen in the parks. ie- This has been changed/removed/replaced.
