gburn07 Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 This is kinda funny as I was randomly searching forums a few mins ago and found this same topic from a year or two ago about this... but anyways its a mixture of thrill rides and theming, along with a great atmosphere. Quote
The New England Snapper Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 BC Cedar Fair bought it!!!! SO now we can finally get some good rides we deserve!! Quote
italianchef Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 The rides, characters, shows and atmosphere. But I admit - I liked the shows and characters A LOT more back in 2000-2002 when Hanna-Barbara characters roamed the parks and there were Scooby Doo & Country Music shows. From my perspective the park was BETTER then. Have a great day! Italian Chef Quote
moore Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 I love PKI's flat collection. Drop Zone, TRTR and Delirium are probably my favorite rides in the park. Quote
JxAx Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 its a mixture of thrill rides and theming, along with a great atmosphere. YES Quote
Jasper Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 i agree with you Chef the park was better when HB Characters roamed the park and meet and greeted with you the park felt like it had an overall better atmosphere. Quote

It is sad that I can no longer see Hanna-Barbara characters at International Street and elsewhere. Also, I don't dig how the Nickelodeon characters stay in one spot now - other than the parade, which rocks. There is something magical about seeing characters roam the park. I hope that CF will bring back the magic and have the characters roam the park. Blessed Day! Italian Chef Quote
LongLiveTheSmurfRide Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Yeah, I liked it back when the Star Trek folks roamed around too. Quote
moore Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 I don't remember EVER seeing any sort of costumed character when I've gone to PKI in the past . . .granted the first time I went was only in 99. Quote
tubaman Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 The park has a mix of everything. It is also the closest major amuesment/theme park to my house. I've been coming to this park for years, and it seems to get better. Quote
Reon Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Vortex But seriously, KI has a nice variety of rides. NU is a suprisingly enjoyable section, with a log flume, Avatar (I love that thing), a shooting ride, and a few more good family coasters. Also, Congo falls is fun, and who doesn't love Drop Zone? Finally, Rivertown. All 3 coasters there pwn bacon (I'm counting IJ and Vortex, since they border the section) Quote
CoastersRZ Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle is technically not part of Nick Universe. It is technically part of International Street. Quote
Reon Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Yeah, but it's right next to the entrance, so I'm counting it. It sort of falls into the same catagory as IJ being in rivertown. I admit that Vortex is a stretch, but I love that thing too much to disinclude it. Quote
coasterking123456 Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 The amount of rides and how good they are. Quote
KIBeast Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 For me, it's somewhat nostalgic. I have been going to KI since it opened. A lot of great family memories came from that place. From the great shows of the '80's, to the openings of The Beast, The Vortex, and many other great rides. I miss the old HB characters too, but, realistically, children know Nick now, not HB. Quote
PKIVortex Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I like Kings Island because we have the worlds longest wooden coaster. The worlds tallest, fastest, and only looping wooden coaster. As well as The Vortex the best Arrow looper around. Quote
Gordon Bombay Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 ^ever ridden tenesse tornado? I like Kings Island because of the memories I have there of going as a kid, memories of going there iwth friends who I'm not that close to anymore, and how everytime I go in there I find some new photographic oppourtunity, it is one of my favorite places to take my cameras. Quote

PKIVortex Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 ^ever ridden tenesse tornado? Nope but I have heard it's a great ride. I hope to one day. Quote
gburn07 Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 T.T is a great ride, it just needs more to it. Its a very short, but smooth ride. Quote
Snake Attack! Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 I really like the atmosphere especially the royal fountains at night, whenever I got the blues or the "happies I like to take a stroll on Internationional Street after my shift when no one is there. Quote
Gordon Bombay Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 ^PKI does have a fantastic atmosphere especially as the sunsets... -Taken Friday night around 9 P.M. Quote
Delirium13 Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 I like going for the atmosphere and the rides. And for the time I get to spend with my friends. Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Because no matter how many times I go, I can't get over how cool the entrance experience is: the bombastic, classical-sounding music, the cool mist of the fountains, the majestic tower, the people screaming over on Face/Off, and the aroma of food, perfume and sunblock. I just never get used to it. It's cool. Quote
cstrwomann Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 I like PKI because of the scenery, theming, season pass perks, and good roller coasters. Quote
