Everytime I hear someone explain the ride they say it is painful. I don't do coasters because I am afraid of heights but I was willing to try Tomb Raider because I don't think you compare it to a coaster. Is it a scary or intense ride? What's painful about it??

I will be more than happy to explane the ride to you... but this is more fit for me to explane it througe IM'ing or maybe an E-mail.

I didn't think that it was painful. Just not very exciting.

Some complain of being uncomfortable from being suspended upside down for an extended amount of time.

I have not found it to be rough, or uncomfortable. However, there is a slight difference in forces depending upon where you sit. The front row is a bit more forceful than the back row, and the middle is... well, in-between.

Well I find it a little painful when it flips you upside down and you slam yourself on the metal bars in front of you.

Many people just find the extended suspension and negative g's of the slow ascents painful and forceful, but if you can handle them theyre fun, its definently worth a try, the theming (although not what it used to be) is still pretty good, enjoy your ride!

I have never had trouble with it however. It is a very fun ride - and even more fun if it breaks down while youre on it!

TombRaider is a great ride. Even if all the original theming does not work, it is still one of the best themed thrill rides in the US.

I understand some of the complaints with the negative g forces...but the ride is still a blast!!

My biggest problem with Tomb Raider comes when the brakes are applied to lock the gondola in place. For example, after the ice scene and the gondola flips forward to begin its dive. There is a very pronounced jerk there and a few other places in the ride as well. To me, its a little painful, but can be dealt with.

Imagine if the Viking Fury could not only spin a total 360. But could also tilt forward and backwards while it was doing it, while inside, in the dark.

Like I said - that's just what I heard. I just wanted to be the one to repeat it on here.

Well, I've only ridden it once beause it sucked, but for me that was only because I have really bad vision but i had to take off my glasses on the ride so I couldn't see the theming AT ALL and then I got squirted with water and had no idea where the heck it came from, and it all made no sense to me...so if u wear glasses and are going to have to take them off it is definitely NOT worth the wait...-.-

As someone who rode Tomb Raider 14 times in a row - I can say it is definately worth the wait if you have never been on it. I typically don't wait more than 30 mins for it - which is a line extending a bit out of the cave. But I have done it alot - so there's no need for me to wait longer.

If you wear glasses and are going to a theme park, I highly recommend you wear a strap. That will get you on most rides with your glasses...from Kingda Ka to X Flight to Top Thrill Dragster to Delirium.

Just don't expect it to make any difference at Knott's Berry Farm. It won't. No glasses allowed on most anything there...Just one more reason I seldom go there. I have actually passed that park many times on the way to other places. Oh well, it's their lost income, and my kept funds....

I know someone who rode TRTR 30 times in a row. It's crazy, isn't it?

Well I did not ride it 30 times in a row, but I was one of the people in the original photo shoot for TRTR. We were on it for close to 2 hours. The photographer was also on the ride a certain times. He had his camera duct taped to his hand. We rode in the dark, and with all of the lights on. Ride was stopped upside down over the 'lava pit' several times while photos were taken.

I actually think it is one of PKI's better attractions, just wish the theming were better. An interesting note, the end sequence of the ride was cut about 25 seconds. The ride was to do two additional full rolls with the gondola spinning. However, during testing, it was determined that the mechanical equipment/motors could not produce the power for the two additional rolls. You can clearly tell that the ride ends abruptly. Still a cool ride though.

...And for many riders, it still doesn't end soon enough.

I love TopSpins...but the slowed down, extended upside-downs are not my cup of tea. I know many who feel the same.

I'd MUCHLY prefer a regular old outside TopSpin doing a righteous program any day.

I should probably add I think even less of the one at PKD...

but many many more enjoy what TRTR is...

Probably not as many as would were the theming kept up.

Twill be most interesting to see what CF does with this, and with AE, for that matter....

I rode this a couple weeks ago and hated it. Once it started, i wanted off. My balls hurt really bad. So did my friend's, but my other friend didnt complain at all....hmmm....suspicious...

Because it took away one of my favorite rides to work...and most unfavorite rides to clean in the Spring! Long live FLOP!

Express isn't brand themed.

Express always had the Indiana Jones music in the queue. It was always sold as an Indiana Jones type of ride, even if not in name. One interesting fact was that it was built during the Lindner years. Lindner owned stock in Paramount, perhaps because Taft originally did as well through Entertainment Tonight, and I always wondered if the theme was foresight to selling the park to Paramount. That does not though explain Phantom Theater.

Were did you get stuck on it??? it broke down on me,my friend, my sis and some other peeps. We were up at the ice thing, then the lights came on and we didnt move it was kinda fun just laying there/ some girl thought she was gona die <<< that got annoying her screaming. we were stuck for a good 30-40mins.

My reference was not meant as to whether they would keep the theming (though that is a good question), but more to will they keep the theming UP--as in maintain it and keep it repaired...(which Paramount certainly didn't do all that great a job of...)

Interpreter, I didn't know about the glasses deal at Knott's. You would think that CF's rules would be the same across the chain, with maybe hours of operation being the exception.

You might think so, but no.

Even down to such things as to whether there are cubbies to store loose articles or whether you must take all loose articles onboard with you (!!) and can leave nothing in the station under any circumstances. I have seen both policies enforced, sometimes at the same park (Dorney).
