I would have to say that night rides on The Beast rule. It seems that it goes faster, although I can't confirm or deny this. The thing with The Beast is, it is not your average wooden coaster. There is not a lot of air time, but you can't beat the scenery, tunnels and the helix finale.

I think your only problem is that you plan to "force" yourself onto the ride. If you look at it like this, the chances that you'll back out are far higher. I enjoy thrill rides and find little anxiety when trying new ones--which is in stark contrast to most other aspects of my life, haha. I think the key is to keep in mind that you're going to experience a ride: a piece of equipment designed to entertain you. It's difficult today, in light of SOB's recent shenanigans, to talk about how there's no real danger to fear, though the fact of the matter is the chances are so slim that worrying about it, to the point that you miss out, is just plain foolish.

If you want to enjoy the ride--and it seems like you do--then go for it. Hold your breath and jump in, as it were. Just remember to have fun!

I cant really explain the ride on The Beast. It is a coaster out of this world. The reason I cant explain it to you is because it is something nobody can realy explain. It is not an average coaster at all. It is the best coaster ever most likely you will love it and make sure to ride in the front.

Here are the specs though

110 foot hill with a 144 foot drop

64 mph

7400 feet long

105 foot hill with a 135 drop

3 tunnels

2 helixes

The best coaster ever

The best coaster ever is not a statistic, it's an opinion.

And The Beast did indeed go 64 miles per hour once upon a time.

I doubt it does that now. Where do you think it goes 64 miles per hour? Before or after it hits the brakes on the first drop?

And if you think it is the best coaster ever, what do you think of the Harry Traver rides? If you don't know who Harry Traver was, I suggest you do some research! smile.gif

Then there's Miller, Schmeck, Vetel, Stengel, etc.

Best coaster ever? I couldn't say that about any coaster. You see, I haven't ridden every coaster ever made. Not to mention I have ridden this certain little thing in Massachusetts, this other little thing in New Jersey (and no, I don't mean the steel one), a grand old historic thing in Brooklyn, a modern day re-creation of it in Georgia....and there are tons and tons of coasters I have never ridden and never will be able to...we can start with Traver's Cyclone and go on to the Riverview Bobs...and on and on.

Yes, The Beast is unique. It's a wonderful experience. Especially at night.

But best coaster ever?

You might want to consider a career in public relations. . .

Wow The Interpreter,

A little touchy on others opinions are we? I didn't take it that he/she was listing it as a statistic of being the best coaster ever. He/She was just simply stating his/her opinion with every right to do so just like you are entitled to yours. I have been on several wooden coasters and have yet to find one as unique as The Beast. A common misconception when people try to compare the Cyclone and other coasters to The Beast is what makes The Beast unique. It is a terrain wooden coaster. It uses the terrain as part of the ride trees, hills, use to have a lake. It still is the longest wooden coaster so it still has that going for it, but like the Cyclone it is unique in it's own right and many have their own opinions of it being the best wooden coaster. I wouldn't expect anyone who has ridden traditional wooden coasters to think this. In my opinion The Beast is one of the best wooden coasters ever simply because of it's terrain unique style. Harry Traver's rides are a totally different type of wooden coaster.
