full story there they said that the attendance WASNT good as to were before CF bought the park Attendance was Great. I think they were looking at cost to set up and how many tickets have been sold so far.

Well I hope for a couple of GOOD and new coasters like Mantis and Raptar!

"The new owner of Kings Island, Sandusky-based Cedar Fair, looked at the numbers and decided to concentrate on other park attractions, Kaiser said."

"Other park attractions?" They must be thinking 2008... don't hold your breath folks...

Well, it all comes down to money. Afterall, Cedar Fair is a business and they won`t hold an event if it wasn`t making money. But I am slightly surprised they didn`t give it a second chance with reduced prices to see if the attendance situation would be rectified.

As the article mentions, there is no chance that FearFest will be discontinued. FearFest has been a huge hit and makes the park a lot of money.

"Other Park Attractions"... Could Fearfest be re-vamped and pumped up for '06? I hope so! -Hauntguy

That's been the rumor I've heard lately...

More Fearfest this year than ever seen before.

So what happens to all the lights and decorations? Storage for sometime in the future? Re-sold to interested buyers?

I wonder the overall cost of Winterfest. Unless everything was rented, I don't know why they wouldn't want to try and make their money back (assuming they didn't do that last year) before axing the whole thing.

Much of it was rented. Some was on a rent-to-own type basis, or so I hear. And some of what was bought is being offered to other Cedar Fair parks, like Knott's...not that Knott's has ever had a holiday celebration like Winterfest...
