The Interpreter
It has always amazed me that Kings Island, nearly alone among major parks, has only one set of misters in the entire park (to my knowledge). And if Coke does go, the one set of misters in the Cool Zone would no doubt go with it.... Meanwhile, Cedar Point, far to the north and far less humid most days, has misters everywhere, and fans with misters in queue lines. Think we will see more misters next year at Kings Island? I, for one, hope so.
TheKlockster
Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom also had alot of misters. There were misters on the midway, and in some of the queue lines. And don't forget Mister Six!
King Bowser
I read in DD in the spring that Coke is stayin at PKI for 10 years they had a gotten a deal that extended 10 years.
Shaggy
Misters are nice, but also wreak havok on midways and parks. They leave pools of water, and rust things around them. PKD had several of them for years... but last time I visited, had removed them. Shaggy

I had never thought of the fact KI does not have misters. They certainly have the water systems throughout the park.
PKIVortex
I haven't seen the Coke Cola Cool Zone work for a few years at PKI. Now they may only use them on extremely hot days. But I know it hasn't been on at all this year.
TheKlockster
I have been there on some extremely hot days - and have not seen them running. I think there are a few lines that need misters - but for the most part the park doesn't need them. I can only think of one queue line that is just brutal to wait in and that is White Water Canyon. vortex31
Seems like if the Cincinnati Zoo can afford them so could KI.
Jasper
I went to The reds fame and they actually had a misting station and it felt soo good on a hot day. I hope that CF brings in some more misters to the park because on a hot day you really need them to cool off. Especially when you are in line. I think Delirium could use them. That shaded screen ceiling is okay, but it's not enough when the sun is just beating down on you in that line during the early to late afternoons. The Interpreter
I also think it speaks volumes that they never did bother to cover most of the Son of Beast line. Taft and KECO usually put up slatted covers (like Beast still has and King Cobra did). Cedar Fair puts up lots of those tent style structures, as does Six Flags. Most of the Son of Beast line remains uncovered to this day. Oh well. I am sure there are much higher priorities for that area of the park. That only becomes a factor when there is actually a long line for SOB, which hasn't been the most popular ride to begin with and may never be full again. But yeah, when the SOB queue was full, it was a horribly hot line.

As little as Paramount was concerned with continuity of theming? Do you really think they would have been concerned with folk standing out in the sun? Come on Interp! AZ Kinda Guy
I also think it speaks volumes that they never did bother to cover most of the Son of Beast line. Not enough money would be my guess. Hell, that whole "que" screams we ran out of money.
PKIVortex
I have heard, that the ''que'' for SOB was not going to be like that. Hell it's just part of the Top Gun exit cut in half.
LongLiveTheSmurfRide
That's one of the things I always hated about SOB was its annoyingly generic queue and station. If it's supposed to be the son of The Beast, it should all be wood, not the same as the other Action Zone cheapos.
The Interpreter
The color scheme of the station also screams Superman. But then, Steel Venom at Geauga Lake STILL does. Sigh.
