Strickers Grove, the 30th of July 2006

Featured Replies

First and fore most Strickers Grove has the only 2 wooden coasters left in Hamilton County, Ohio. WOW! But wow the tornado great coaster, the Teddy Bear was originally at Coney Island, Cincinnati. Two great coasters.

Family and myself got to go today for a picnic. The ride collections were great from the flying eagles(scooters) to the 2 great coasters, a tilt a whirl, a turtle ride, a kiddy whip, a ferris wheel and so much more.

And new for 2007 an electric rainbow.

Its a great park and great for young kids too!!! But fun overall!!!!

Wanted to see if anyone else had been to the park!!!

IF NOT hope you can all go soon!!!

So they still don't have the trabant up?

And i like the tip top. That ride made me so dizzy. wacko.gif

Klockster, I believe that Stricker`s has put the Schawbinchen from Cedar Point for sale. They instead opted to buy the Electric Rainbow from LeSourdsville Lake. SG might not be the only area park to receive a ride from Americana in 2007...

And the Teddy Bear is not the same exact ride from Coney Island. Ralph Stricker used the blueprints from the original ride at Coney to build a replica of the orginal Teddy Bear. Incidentally, the Tornado, was designed by the late Al Collins, who had a large hand in designing The Beast. It is a mirror image of the Mighty Lightnin that used to run at Rocky Glen Park in Moosic, PA. Apparantly the lift equipment on the Tornado came from the Mighty Lightnin after Rocky Glen closed in 1988.

Oh how I wish Coney had bought the Screechin' Eagle...

It was once owned by the same company that owned Coney Island of Ohio!

That would be nice, but unfortunately, that ride isn`t for sale. Yes, the same company that owns Coney (Park River Corporation under the ownership of Brenda Walker) used to own Americana. After Park River Corporation sold Americana in 2000, they relocated one ride from Americana to Coney, the Tempest.

Thanks for the history on the teddy bear and the Tornado WOW!!! But overall Strickers Grove is a great park indeed!! And hope Coney Island bought some rides from lesourdsville Lake too!!!

Hopefully the adult whip will go somewhere????

Also does anyone know at strickers grove what the ride was or will be next to the grand carousel just a frame is there???

I know the electric rainbow will be down next to the tilt a whirl

No, I don`t know what will be going next to the Carousel. I haven`t been to Stricker`s Grove in probably five years.

You never know, Coney may just end up with one of the rides from Americana. But I doubt that it will be the Whip...
