Water under the beast

Featured Replies

Undrneath the station and teh elevated cue line. You can tell cause of where there is alot of moss. It also went under the track in the first curve before lift 1.

I remember when The Beast had water around it. The que line had this really cool water trough thing that the water would run down. There was also water around the first curve coming out of the station. I wonder why they took it away. The first time I rode it was its inaugural year...1979. It was incredible. I realize that times change but I remember lots of classic rock and hyped up riders while waiting in line.

It would be great if PKI could bring back some of that.

Of course I do tend to wax nostalgic from time to time

actually alot

can't help it

I wonder why they took it away.

I can't remember where I heard this, but it was my understanding that the water attracted a lot of unwanted insect pests. I can remember the water and trough...it was pretty cool.

i never remember water under The Beast, but i do remember hearing about it. i can see how the standing water would attract insects (mosquito's) most probably, and well, i wouldnt want them all over me while i was in line, so gettin rid of the water was probably in everyones best interest.

People would also throw their garbage into the water. This stopped up the pumps and filters, so you had stagnant water, rotting garbage, and thousands of insects...not an entirely pleasant experience.

I just wrote a huge reply to this backing up everything you guys said but with a few more details and my stupid IE crashed. <_<

/\ that's what you get for using a microsoft product :D

well i never rode when it had water but it would've been cool had the guests respected the environment (which will never happen ;) ) o well

Dude, get MOzilla FireFox. it works great, imports IE bookmarks, and is VERY stable!
