Shman Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I know that most people here are sad that Cedar Fair didn't give Winterfest a second chance this year at PKI....so I thought I would pass along some pictures I found showing that at least they have given some of the decorations and equipment a second chance. As most of us here have already heard Cedar Fair shipped out a lot of decorations from both PKI and Carowinds to California to be used at both Knotts Berry Farm and Bonfante Gardens. Both parks also recieved pieces of the Home for the Holidays Parade from Winterfest. I believe that Bonfonte Gardens only recieved 3 floats, while Knotts recieved a whole set. Following the link below to the Westcoaster site to see some pictures of the floats at their new home, I like how they incorporated some of the Snoopy and Charlie Brown characters into things. http://www.westcoaster.net/updates.php?upd...0806&page=9 Quote
CoastersRZ Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I believe it was stated at Beast Bash that Kings Island`s floats went to Knott`s Berry Farm. But I also know that not all of their floats left Kings Island. So, they might have sent the KI ones to Bonfante and the Carowinds ones to Knotts. Quote
PKIVortex Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Awww that makes me sad, that Winterfest didn't return this year. But at least the floats didn't go to waste. Quote
Avatar Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 It looks nice and looks like a great family event, but with the green leaves on the tress, no snow and its still day light it seems to lose that Winter Wonderland feel. Maybe it’s just me but it doesn’t seem like the holidays without all the cold weather to go with it. Quote
beastfan11 Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Yeah I agree. Even today hearing Christmas music and warm weather feels wierd. Quote
Discodude3737 Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I'm just glad they went to a decent location. Knott's Berry Farm is a great park, and I'm glad to see that Cedar Fair is expanding their Chistmas events. Quote

When I lived in Calfiornia, it was warm around christmas-and even though I am originally from here, it was kinda nice. We still hung icicles on the house and all-it is just a different experience. I liked it cause there was just more to do-you get used to it. WooferBearATL Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 One of the main reasons I moved South was get away from snow. Nothing like doing Christkwanzikah in a light jacket!!!! Quote
Gordon Bombay Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 You cant beat southern weather during the holiday season. I'd give anything to be in Texas right now....right around Austin. Quote

Dallas is gorgeous at the Holidays! So is San Antonio. But ya know we don't call Texas the South. We just say - Over there! <G> Quote

[rant]Christkwanzikah? I HATE it when people do that. Can't you say Happy Holidays like a normal person? I mean, what about Wiccans? I don't see any mention of any Wiccan holidays in Christkwanzikah. [/rant] Oh, and Happy Holidays everyone. Quote

WooferBearATL Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 It's RamaHaunKwanzMas!! Oh My. Now that's the web site for that talk show host that asked the House of Representatives elect to prove to him that he is not working for terrorists? That's gotta be one of the most crazy things of the year. Quote
