German Movie Park adding Nick Attractions

Featured Replies

I read over on Screamscape - http://www.screamscape.com/html/movie_park.htm - that Movie Park in Germany is rethemeing their kid's area to Nickelodeon characters and attractions in 2007. From the "2007 Preview" on the park's official site, Spongebob is featured:

So, the Nick franchise will find life in a theme park next year outside of Paramount (or Cedar Fair) parks...

Good point...I had forgotten that until you mentioned it. (And, of course, there's Nick's original former home at USF & USH).

I just found it interesting since this is the first expansion of the Nick brand to another theme park company since Viacom got out of that business themselves. It also got me thinking about whether or not there was any North American exclusivity in CF's current Nick licensing agreement...

It is not surprising that other amusement parks want to tap into the highly popular Nick franchises. I think it would be wise for Cedar Fair to hold onto the Nick franchise as long as they can, and even extend it to the non Paramount parks as well.

Which brings up the issue of what really is Cedar Fair`s license agreement with both the Nickelodeon and Paramount franchises beyond the already known four year term for the Nick and ten year term for the Paramount franchises.
