CoasterCrazy
In Random History Facts in the Misc. section of Park History, it states that the Kings Island property used to consist of 1600 acres. As far as I know, the park now covers 700 acres, with 365 of those actually being used. Why were 900 acres of land sold, when were they sold, and were there ever plans to use that much land? Charles Mechem took Disney's advice and purchased 1600 acres off I-71 and Kings Island Drive... ~From Chefs book, Available Here!
BoddaH1994
A lot of it has to do with selling off the Kings Island Resort as well.
