Looks safer than SOB?

Sure. No track is missing from the ride. . .

I do hope the park would be smart enough to replace the missing track before reopening.

.... Oh yeah, Paramount is Gone. Scratch That Worry.

At least some here would probably want to ride it WITH the portion of the track missing.

Many years ago, in the pre-World Wide Web days, I and many others showed up for Hurler's opening at Kings Dominion. Unbeknownst to us until we got there, it wasn't finished. Would you believe some were insistent they wanted to ride it, even though a fifteen foot portion of the ride was missing right after the lift hill?

I wonder if he's using "G" trains? Or Premiere? Or PTCs? Or a Whirpool box with wheels? Hey - maybe they should try the Whirpool box thing on SOB. Wait - use a Maytag box...fewer repairs!

What is incredible is that was built for only $5.5k.

There are a couple of people building coasters on sscoasters.net.

This one is near completion --->

He just needs to finish testing. http://bfolla06.googlepages.com/ There is his website for it. I designed the logo that is at the top of the webpage.

This one is being planned EXTREMELY well, with even a guy making a spreadsheet of the forces, along with an autocad drawing. ---> http://sscoasters.net/forum/showthread.php?t=4862

Hmmm.

I have ridden the Williams Grove Cyclone.

Those backyard coasters look safer than it did! :)

By the way, WHY is this in Coming Attractions?

Is this what Kings Island is getting for 2008?

EDIT: I see it has been moved to a more appropriate locale! There went our 2008 attraction. Drat! :)

Maybe.. but I also know there are unsafer coasters, while i don't remember the name of it there used to be a coaster at a small small amusement place similar to dave and buster's in gatlinburg, TN and everytime the coaster would go around the turn the wood would move.. it was freaky

The wood coaster you write of was at the NASCAR raceway place--Race World. Known as Thunder Eagle, it was a small, very well built ride, and designed to flex as it did. It was built by The Coaster Works, Inc. It didn't operate very long at all, though. The location left a LOT to be desired.

The ride was relocated to Quebec, where it sat apparently in storage for about three years at Mont Saint Sauveur.

The ride is currently being rebuilt in Mexico at Mundo Acuatico Anita.

Technically this is old news, but its still sweet. I've always wanted to do something like this, but I'm convinced its impossible.

Thanks alot for the info, I always wondered what happened to that coaster. I go down there often and I looked for it but in the span of a year it came and went. I remember my dad wouldn't let me ride it because he was sure it was unstable.
