So tom, SFKK is open during the week? Excellent, thanks to the fact that im on spring break i may have to go for a visit and check it out for the first time.

They are open 11AM - 6PM next Monday through Friday. They do this every season. It usually is a great time to head down to the Park. I've never really experienced huge crowds, we usually ride everything we want. Gotta love Greezed Lightnin'! I am thinking of heading down myself, we may also skip off to Dollywood or Six Flags over Georgia again too.

11am to 6pm would be pretty good hours, if some of my friends are interested in pitching in for gas and helping drive i may be coming down. How are the food prices there? I hear terrible.

11-6 is definitely ample time to enjoy the park :-) Its not a terrible park, just not one that takes a whole day to enjoy. As for food prices, having experienced both Fiesta Texas and over Georgia this season, I'd say they are comparable. Over priced, yes, but not nearly as bad as what KI was charging for stuff last season. Also, parking is only $4 I believe (thanks to the fairgrounds) so you definitely score there :-)

I'm probably going to eat before and after I go there. The food in the park isn't necessarily bad, but fairly expensive. And for the relatively short time (about 5 hours?) that I'll be in the park, it makes more sense for me to eat somewhere for less or better.

When heading to the park, I find it easier to simply head for the main parking gate for the Expo Center, from the westbound Watterson Expressway, so you don't have to circle around the perimeter road. With Freedom Hall straight ahead, I usually go left to park in the lot next to the park and the East Hall/Wing. While it sucks that there's no re-entry option to parking (without paying again), at least it's just $5, and not $10 to $15.

It's my understanding that if you have a Six Flags pass with season pass parking from another park, you can get a refund on your parking money by visiting Guest Relations.

Don't know for sure yet, but will be trying it soon.

By the way, I found the food prices at Six Flags Great Adventure to be less than those at Carowinds this season, and the food quality to be far higher.

Just a point in passing. (And yes, Papa John's pizza is $6.50 a slice at GAd, while the nameless pizza at Carowinds is $4.29 for pepperoni, but the slice at GAd was at least twice as large as the Carowinds one, and far, far superior in both taste and quality).
