raptor
Yep. Same here. And there was NOTHING on the website to indicate that one MUST have a Kings Island season pass (as opposed to a MAXX pass from ANY Cedar Fair Park) to buy a Kings Island season parking pass. Nothing at all. And I checked yesterday there still is nothing that says that. This is what is says: A season-long parking permit will be issued for each Individual Season-Long Parking Pass purchased. This parking permit is valid at Paramount's Kings Island only for the 2007 season.

Not only does this mean it shouldnt matter what maxx pass you have, but technicaly it means you should be able to buy a parking pass even if you don't have a season pass. They even use a picture of a different pass to denote it on the site which in my mind means you get a seperate pass for parking.
FOFirehawkFAN
one of the things is that I bought my max pass as soon as they went on sale, I bought the ki parking pass, there was no all ohio pass at the time, ki parking pass was the only option so i bought, now what was the only option then, is no longer valid. I noticed this as well so I bought my Maxx Pass from Kings Island only because Kings Island opens first and I did notice the ohio parking pass on Cedar Points website so I bought it there. Only to be told at Ceadr Point they could not add it to my pass and that I needed to buy the ohio parking pass from KI, even though KI told me they DIDN'T sell it!!! And get this if I wanted a refund for the ohio parking pass I would need to write a formal complaint to Cedar Fair to request the refund and get it in 2-4 MONTHS! They wouldn't even let me park with the paper I printed out, and said I would get re-embursed when I processed the parking pass, but since they couldn't process my pass they didn't refund my parking. Eventually they came up with the idea to change my KI maxx pass to a CP maxx pass and add Ohio Parking to it, but now I lost my gold member benefits, but I guess thats better than paying $10 every time I want to go to either park and waiting 4 months for my refund. I thought maybe I was the only one with this problem apparently not lol.
PKIVortex
That is just plain stupid. Since they have an all ohio parking pass, it should be able to be purchased at any Ohio Cedar Fair park. It shouldn't matter if you have a KI Maxx Pass, a CP Maxx Pass, or a GL Maxx Pass. It sounds like to me, the season pass program needs alot of work. The Interpreter
Or it could be like Six Flags, where a parking pass from any Six Flags park is good at all of them. Then again, a Six Flags dry park PASS is good at any Six Flags dry park, no Maxx anything required.
PKIVortex
Well when you have the former Paramount Parks doing pictureless passes, and then the other Cedar Fair parks puttings pictures on them. I know in the past that if you went to another Paramount Park you still had to go to GR to get a ticket, at least that what I had to do when I went to PCW, PKD, and PC. The Interpreter
And yet, when I was at Kings Island Tuesday morning, my picture DID come up when they scanned by Cedar Point Maxx pass. I had not noticed it doing this before...

The Interpreter
Right, the CP scanners cannot pull up pictures, regardless of where the pass is from....
PKIVortex
Remember the Paramount Parks put in that new system last year. Remember some of the 2006 season pass had pictures while the ones that were processed in the spring did not. I'm guessing that CP or the other Cedar Fair parks don't have the screens for your picture to come up. That is probably why they are making you to go Guest Relations. I'm now a KIC Double Platinum Member, yay for me, 2001 posts. LOL
CoastersRZ
And, that is part of why the Paramount Parks season passes started omitting the pictures from the actual pass. The standard pass`s barcode is chained to you image in their computer system. So when your pass is swiped, it brings up your picture (which is much larger and in color) than what it would have been on the pass. They certainly have made things very complicated for their customers with their season pass issues. Hopefully, they get some sense knocked into them, and realize how crazy they were creating all these minor stipulations and issues and simplify things a notch for next year. Tater Salad
OK now I'm nervous.... I am planning on taking my family to KI for 4 days and then CP for 4 days. I was planning on buying the four of us a KI Maxx Pass and the All Ohio Parking Pass. Is this NOT possible at KI? If so, that's going to really stink.... The Interpreter
You CAN buy an All Ohio parking pass at Kings Island with either a Kings Island pass or a MAXX pass purchased from Kings Island. Or at least you are supposed to be able to!
Tater Salad
Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone purchased at the gate a KI Maxx pass AND an All Ohio Parking Pass at Kings Island? Still nervous...
bparrott03
It should. Its on the board outside, and they offered it to me. They were trying to convince me to buy the all ohio parking.. But I rejected. I don't go to CP much. But it *should* be available. You can always call and be sure. Make sure you write the persons name down you talk to, so that if you have issues, your prepaird and can mention so and so said you could. clbehymer
I have a KI Maxx Pass, but have yet to use it at CP or elsewhere. I'm glad that I read this so I would expect to be referred to GR at CP when I go. I say that we should start some sort of petition or letter to CF. They may be able to ignore multiple people when dealing with 1 person at a time, but do you think that if 100 or more people complained on the same letter/petition, they would ignore it? Just a thought, maybe a silly one at that.

raptor
Well I went to Kings Island today and things ended up being pretty painless. They took my ki parking voucher and upgraded to all ohio parking pass for and extra 40 dollars plus the refunded me my parking for today. They processed it on my Cedar Point max plus pass and swore up and down that it would work at Cedar Point too. I left the park and tried to re-enter with my season pass just to make sure it would work at Kings Island and it did. I will feel better when I go to cp next weekend and it works there to, but If it works at ki and it's a cp max pass I would thing it should. This came off without argument. At least it now works at KI, I think it will work at CP but truthfully I rarely pay for parking there anyway since I stay in the breakers but it will be more conveinient. raptor
I received an initial response from Cedar Fair Marketing that reads as follows: We are in receipt of your letter regarding the Maxx Pass and the parking pass. We are forwarding it to our Corporate Marketing department for review and response. Thank you for your interest in Cedar Fair. Sincerely, Laurie Sutter Cedar Fair Entertainment Company We'll see if I get anymore correspondence.
The Interpreter
That's a lot more answer than I ever got (none at all). I took their silence as meaning either one of two things (or both): a. What part of no do you not understand? or b. We don't care. Go away. And don't tell me I didn't give them an opportunity to respond. Let's see; I complained at GR both orally and in writing at Kings Island, and was told I would be contacted "with a favorable response; I called four times over six weeks when I heard nothing; I wrote Cedar Fair at its corporate address. Without mentioning these difficulties directly, I got the problem fixed at Cedar Point's season pass department, but LOST parking privileges at my original season pass home park in the process. Only because I cared enough to fix my own problem in the best way I could was I at all satisfied. That should NOT have been necessary. This parking program is far too complicated, customer un-friendly and antagonizes some of the most influential customers the company has: those who are interested enough in Cedar Fair to visit more than one of their properties. And remember, NOTHING on the website indicated that you MUST have a Kings Island season pass to buy Kings Island parking. NOTHING at all. True then and still today. Ridiculous. I think it borders on bait and switch, if it isn't. In any event, it shows that someone either doesn't care or isn't doing their job (or perhaps was let go or 'left to pursue other opportunities.' Or, as I was told the first time I told Kings Island's GR I STILL had not heard from them (and this was over a month after the problem), they are busy with "conversion issues." Customers don't care about "conversion issues," but they do care about how the parks treat them.
