June 27, 200719 yr Ok I haven't been to KI since the year SOB opened....what has all changed with the rides like being torn down or I have heard about the new ones. I am going to be up there July 13-15 and my friend and I are thinking about going to KI rather than Cedar Point cause its closer. Thanks!
June 27, 200719 yr Since 2000 the following rides have been removed from the park. KCKC (big log flume in rivertown) that's where TR:TR is. King Cobra, Delirium is in that spot and also Sling Shot. Antique Cars, and Flying Eagles, IJST and the 3 point challenge is there. The year you went the Log Flume, Kings Mills Log Flume was shut down for the 2000 season, but reopened in 2001 as Wildtornberry's River Adventure. Scooby's Ghoster Coaster is gone, Avatar took that spot. Also Phantom Theater is gone, and now Scooby's Doo's Haunted Castle is there. So a lot of changes has happened in 7 years. I hope you have fun.
June 27, 200719 yr Author I always liked King Cobra...probably because it was the first upside down ride I ever went on. Last time like Vortex, The Beast, Flight of Fear (no plans to get on that again) were extremely jerky, has that changed? Or is it with the upside down coasters, the stupid restraints that gives you all the whiplash?
June 27, 200719 yr SOB isn't being tour down, just the loop. Last year in July there was an accident closing the ride and around December-January the loop was removed. The ride just got new trains installed and has been testing for the past week or so. I think that SOB might be opening July 4th. When you go to KI SOB and Drop Zone should open back up. =]
June 27, 200719 yr Theres no confirmed date on when SOB will be re-opened but theres a good chance it could be open for your visit, as for Flight of Fear I would give it another chance, in 2001 the ride opened late because it received new trains and no longer has the over the shoulder restraints, it now has lap bars and is one great ride!
June 27, 200719 yr You forgot to mention how Waterworks is now Boomerang Bay with new attractions like Tasmanian Typhoon and Coolangatta Racer to name a few.
June 27, 200719 yr And there is this new flying roller coaster too, as you might have heard of. I think it is definitely one of the best rides in the park as well. The flying experience is sensational. Firehawk is definitely worth checking out, even if there is a long line.
June 27, 200719 yr 6/26/07 Firehawk was having some prombloms, with station 2 and was shut Down around 5:00. It may have a longer line. it was 20min. with two stations but with one it was around 45 min. to 60 min.
June 28, 200719 yr 6/26/07 Firehawk was having some prombloms, with station 2 and was shut Down around 5:00. It may have a longer line. it was 20min. with two stations but with one it was around 45 min. to 60 min. We walked up to Firehawk around 6 yesterday, and they were just reopening station 2, and the line was so short that we got on in 15 minutes. Talk about perfect timing.
June 28, 200719 yr Ah yes! And The Beastie is now Fairly Odd Coaster You ment to say that the Scooby Doo which some people called The Beastie is now the Fairly Odd Coaster!!!!!!! (I will only ride in the Cosmo train, there is no way that I will get on a pink coaster)
June 28, 200719 yr Author They changed the name of the Jr Beast? That was my lil cousin's favorite ride there! Have they re-opened Drop Zone? Don't know if I will chance that since what happened to that little girl. Its one of my favorite rides at KI and Carowinds.
