Hey everyone, sorry for my absence the past few weeks. I've been pulled away from KIC by other projects. Don't worry - I still love y'all.

I saw in the Kings Island newsletter that the park is now offering discounts outside of the park for 2014/15 Gold and Platinum Pass Holders. I'm a little surprised that this hasn't been posted yet.

EnterTRAINment Junction

Celebrate the Holidays with Christmas at EnterTRAINment Junction. Take a magical journey to the North Pole and visit Mrs. Claus and Santa. Walk through the World's Largest Train Display including special Holiday Train Displays. Save over 20% on Do-It-All admission just by showing your 2014 or 2015 Gold or Platinum Season Pass! Offer ends 1/4/15.

Cincinnati Cyclones

Enjoy the gift of Cyclones hockey this holiday season! Show your 2014 or 2015 Gold or Platinum Season Pass at the U.S. Bank Arena box office and receive a $12 Cyclones ticket ($3 off) for any December or January game. Offer ends 1/31/15.

Newport Aquarium

Save $5 on admission when you show your 2014 or 2015 Gold or Platinum Season Pass at the Newport Aquarium ticket window. Offer valid for one ticket per pass. Some exclusions may apply. Offer ends 12/25/14.

And many many more!

You must register your pass in order to see the rest perks redeem these discounts. Check 'em out!

I tried to register on the page on their website, and it kept telling me my pass number is invalid...

I'm not really upset, since I probably wouldn't use these perks anyway, but I'm hoping that isn't a sign that there will be issues when I go to use my pass especially since I intend to go to Carowinds this year...

I already had an account from renewing my platinum pass through Cedar Point. The same account logged me into all parks' passholder sites that I tried. It didn't have my pass registered to it (for some strange reason) but I was able to even add that to my profile.

I had

the same issue. Tried all 6 of my Families passes. Same result each time.

I tried again a few days later and it took mine the first time.

Try it again and see what happens. So far, it's the same perks that were sent out awhile ago.

Has anyone else gotten frustrated with the passholder perks site? I just tried to look through it and see what local deals were there, but all I get that's local is a few deals judged to be "most popular", a section on lodging that is purely self-promotional (Castaway Bay and Hotel Breakers), and an "entertainment" section that does nothing but give me four buttons that all lead to the exact same generic third-party website, from where I can find very little in the way of local deals. The EnterTRAINment Junction or Cincinnati Cyclones deals that we used on Saturday are not listed anywhere that I can find, nor can I find most of the allegedly "most popular" deals on that third-party website (so how'd they become "most popular" if they can't be found anywhere else?). Help?

^ The EnterTRAINment Junction and Cincinnati Cyclones deals were good through Jan 31, 2015.

Well, then that question is answered. The question of why I get redirected to a third-party national website that doesn't have half or more of the so-called "most popular" deals and has very little local is still unanswered.

It seems to me that the "popular offers" section would be better named "everything else" because it basically contains the things that aren't covered by their nation-wide discount ticketing group sites, or lodging. What is shown under "popular offers" really are all of the offers available right now, that aren't the chain or lodging ones. There aren't any hiding elsewhere. All the truly local offers have always been listed in that section.
